Strength Within dominated them at Horsham today on Cup Day to claim the 1100m maiden at just her second start for Tom Dabernig and Linda Meech.

It continued a magnificent weekend for team Dabernig who celebrated a Group 2 double on Saturday at Caulfield and then a Bazzar bringing up a double at Horsham the following day.

This Stay Inside filly was bred by the Allam Family who stayed in the ownership with us and she’s the first foal from their speedy American mare, Karak. She was secured at the Inglis Premier Sale for $80,000 and she looks really well bought at the price.

She brings up the first win for the TBB Mystic Park Syndicate, where we race a selection of fillies, and what a start we’re off to. She came into the race on the back of three trials, winning all of them in a similar manner with little effort, so it was great to see her bring that on race day.

Sent to the paddock after her debut run when she pulled up really feeling her shins, the break and time to mature has done her really well.

A big thank you goes to Team Dabernig and we can’t wait to see her progress through the campaign.

🟠 ⚫️ SAVVY SPY BACK TO HIS BEST ⚫️ 🟠

It’s been a little while between drinks for Savvy Spy, but he was back to his winning ways in impressive fashion!

After jumping tardily, Rachel King settled him towards the rear before finding herself with plenty of horse but nowhere to go turning for home.

Rachel showed great patience, weaving through traffic to find clear air before Savvy unleashed a brilliant turn of foot to put the race away, scoring by a comfortable length with a further 7 lengths back to third!

A fantastic ride from Rachel King and a wonderful training effort by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott to have him back in the winner’s stall!

A massive congratulations to all his owners and thank you for their continued patience and support! 🏆

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ The 4th leg of a triathlon… TRANSITIONS! ⚡️

You can spend hours swimming, riding and running to shave seconds off your race time, but how much time are you leaving behind in transition? 👀

Today the squad mixed things up during our bike session, getting some valuable transition practice in!

Why? Because free speed is the best speed! 🚀

Practising transitions leading into race day builds confidence, improves efficiency and helps make those movements second nature when the pressure is on.

Sometimes the easiest way to get quicker isn’t to train harder, it’s to race smarter. 🧠💪

With the official 2YO trials just around the corner, we asked our team to pick their standout 2YO for the season 🏇✨

Safe to say, there were a few confident calls… and plenty of repeat picks 👀😂 Bourbon Beat seems to be a clear stable favourite! 🤎

We can’t wait to see our 2YOs step out and put their best foot forward next Monday 🔥

Now it’s your turn… who’s your pick for the season? 👇🏼🏆

Scenario 1 -

You are given $100k to spend on a horse at either the yearling sales or online, the owners want a group horse but don’t care what gender, race target or pedigree.

What do you do and why?

Which trainer do you send it to? Which race do you target? What are your reasons?

Let’s see what differing answers we get.

Good luck. No wrong answers and purely hypothetical.
