Riposa in Pace, Artemisia. RIP to our kitty baby, Mimi. We got her as a rescue kitten 17 years ago, along with her brother, Bart(olomeo). I had never had a real pet before (aside from fish and hermit crabs and the rabbits my nonno raised and ate). It was instant love when I pulled tiny kitten Mimi out of our friend’s bathtub, where she was keeping her 8 rescue kittens in between bottle feedings. Ketch and I had just moved in together, and Mimi was our first baby. She slept curled around my neck, and stayed attached and cuddly through our various eras: Philly, NYC, Rome (Italy), Westchester NY, NJ, and some pit stops in between. She loved watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, any food with nutritional yeast on it, dipping her paws in (and knocking over) our water glasses, squishing into tiny boxes and baskets, sleeping in doll beds, and so much more. She loved our perfect dogs, Ruby and Linus, and cuddled up with them or near them constantly. She tolerated our bunny, Georgie, with surprising generosity and grace. She snuggled my belly protectively while I was going through IVF and pregnancy. She welcomed each baby with curiosity, care, and incredible patience. She grieved viscerally when the dogs passed away, especially after Ruby, for over 6 months. She was not thrilled when we adopted Pearl, but she tried her best to be cool with her.

I loved her smile when sleeping, her dainty paws, her stunning tiger tabby patterns, her toasted marshmallow nose, her eyes, her everything. I loved how she would head butt and tap us with her paws when she wanted pets. I always knew she would (hopefully) pass when I would be in my 40s, but it felt so far away. Now, that time has passed, so quickly, and now she’s gone.

It feels like one of the last symbols of my youth, further cementing that middle age is upon me.

I am going to miss my Mimi always. I just want my perfect pets, my Mimi, Ruby, Linus. It hurts without them.

Tonight it rained, and then there was a vivid rainbow. A sign, a rainbow bridge, whatever.

I love my girl, always.

Our community means everything to us. 🤍 Having local businesses right here in Nutley that welcome Nutley Pride and the LGBTQ+ community with open arms is nothing short of incredible.

If you’re looking to support small businesses that give back, lift up their people, and strive to make everyone feel safe and welcome, we want to introduce you to a few of our favorites! 🏳️‍🌈✨

🌸✨ Don’t stop making magic. Don’t stop embracing whimsy. Don’t stop resisting.

Beltane 🌸 May Day 🌸 Festa dei lavoratori 🌸 Primo Maggio

Amore mio @ketchwehr made us a May Pole, we ordered pizzas, and some sweet friends joined us in the backyard, in the perfectly not-too-hot-not-too-cold sun. The bambini danced around the May Pole, grabbing ribbons in their favorite colors, and it was the sweetest and cutest and so magical.

More magic, always ✨✨✨✨

Magic Words of Humanity takes inspiration from a quote by artist @ketchwehr: "I keep trying to find the magic words that will actually convince them of our humanity. But knowing the people who need to know that, I just don't know if that kind of magic exists."

Performed by the incredible @oraquartet after two days of workshops in @riamdublin, so grateful to the quartet for their care and attention to each of our works, resulting in such beautiful performances. Full performance on YouTube and soundcloud

✨My 2025 plus size personal style trends I’m bringing into 2026 ✨

For anyone looking for some plus size style inspiration of the maximalist variety, this is my personal style trend report!

1. Dressing in theme is an easy way for my brain to conceptualize a look. I usually find one item I like and build around that or I let a travel destination inspire me ✈️

2. Rainbow is still my favorite color but this year, I expanded my palette to include more bright pinks and wear primary colors as I leaned into clowncore 🤡

3. Coordinating couples outfits may be cringe to you but they are fun for us! It helps my wife’s neurodiverse brain to have an outfit pre-planned and visually helps me too! 🧑‍❤️‍💋‍🧑

4. Clothes are meant to be worn over and over so you better take that same skirt and re-style it!

5. Red, black and white was my go to color combo of the year and it served me well when mixing textures and patterns in this shade! 🔴⚪️⚫️

6. These designer dupe shades in a range of color added a fun pop of color to every outfit😎

7. Dressing in a way that honors my inner child and makes young me proud has been so rewarding. I also love watching kids light up to see my outfits. One little girl told me that I looked like a Disney Princess and that warmed my whole heart! 💕

8. Toys and trinkets make the best accessories. I’ve always loved a statement accessory but this year, I leaned more into whimsy! 🐠

9. I absolutely have been guilty of buying something new for every occasion. My @nuuly subscription this year was an absolute game changer because I got to wear so many cool pieces but I didn’t have to add them to my closet clutter! 💸

10. I’ve always struggled with professional attire so this year, I just leaned in and found a neon green blazer to pair with my favorite pink pants! This is the best I’ve ever felt at a professional event. 💼

11. My hair is my biggest insecurity but leaning into space buns gave me volume and helped heal my natural curls 🛸

12. Instead of always needing to have my nails done, I prioritized really special nails for big occasions! 💅

What personal style trends are you taking into 2026?

Proudly Presenting... VOTING WITH PRIDE GUIDE: NJ 2025 Edition

Made a Zine all about voting and why the LGBTQ+ community needs to come together to protect our rights.

76 pages of fun, love, and hard work. We have empowering quotes from NJ drag queens and plenty of queer New Jerseyans who shared pro-voting art. Poems, a word search, even a playlist of NJ-connected singers to jam out to while waiting to cast your ballot.

This project is funded by @outvotehq and wouldn't be possible without their unwavering support! You can check out the whole project here @votingwithprideguide or at the link in my biooooo.

Please share with a friend! Or 3! Even the straight ones! Help spread why queer people need you to VOTE THIS NOVEMBER!

Our mornings begin with the sound of explosions, not birdsong.
Children wake up trembling, their little hearts racing with fear.
They are hungry, homeless, and terrified — living a nightmare no child should ever know.
These children do not deserve the horrors they face today.
Share their story, help them survive, and let them know the world still cares.link in bio #fyp #london #sanfrancisco #freepalestine
