For 5 years, we’ve run our social channels for free to champion K Town. As our reach grew past 1M views/month, we shifted strategy to focus on a hyper local algorithm, ensuring our content lands directly in front of Kettering residents. Why Build a Hub? Social algorithms bury local events. We created a central, searchable digital hub where residents can easily discover local venues, hidden gems, and events in one place. It’s all about building a shared space to support one another, giving local businesses, charities, and event organisers the footfall they deserve. Want to join our team? We’re looking for passionate content creators and writers! Email info@lovekettering.co.uk to chat. Simple & Flexible Options Full Business Membership: £90/yr or £9/mo Full Charity/Community: £40/yr or £4/mo Includes: • Searchable hub profile • Unlimited event & promotion listings • Interactive map placement • Features to our 13,000+ followers & newsletter • Forum & networking access Event Only Listings • Single Event: £2.90 • 10 Event Bundle: £20 • 50 Event Bundle: £40 Grassroots Organisations List FREE Grassroots community groups, charities, and CICs can list free in exchange for social engagement! Young people are speaking up. At last week’s council meeting, a young person spoke passionately about the climate crisis and why it matters to them and their generation. Local young people cannot understand why our council is choosing to step back from it’s commitments to treating climate change as an emergency. This is following the hottest Northamptonshire summer on record, where we are seeing the climate crisis visibly affecting our area, closing our schools, affecting people’s ability to live, work and sleep. For young people, this is their future at risk - and yet they don’t have a say. They deserve a fair seat at the table. They deserve to be listened to. 🌍💚 #youngpeople #climatechange #fairsay #future #climateemergency

A contest to be the “Reformiest Reformers ever to Reform”? Last night at NNC Full Council, we were asked to debate removing the Climate and Environment Emergency declaration - a move which, as we heard during the debate, won’t materially change how the Council operates. I’m still struggling to understand the practical point of the motion, other than allowing Reform to claim that they’ve “cancelled the climate emergency”. And the irony is that this summer, the effects of a changing climate actually delayed local democracy, when NNC had to postpone a Council meeting because of the high temperatures. That was an evening meeting - as someone who works in a role involving manual handling outside, I can tell you it was a lot hotter than that. The climate emergency deserves real action, not gesture politics, and our communities need investment and resilience to deal with the challenges ahead. That’s what I want to see from our Council: less political theatre, and more action that actually makes a difference.

We will not be ignored 💪 Thank you so much to the incredible support from those who chose to come out and protest for our climate last night at full council 👏 While Reform may have chosen to pretend the climate emergency does not exist, you all showing up yesterday in solidarity motivates us to keep going. Reform cannot ignore you when you show up like this. There were some incredible public and councillor speeches which we will share here over the coming days. Thank you all again, we are in this together 💚
