🍂 A quick Thanksgiving flow.

Feeling extra grateful this weekend for my husband, my kids, and the opportunity to slow down and enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with some of our family.

At the end of the day, it’s the people we love, the memories we make, and the time we get to spend together that matter most.

Wishing everyone a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, good food, and a little reminder of just how much we have to be thankful for.

Transitional times are gooey, sticky and unoleasant and here we are .. you can bury your head, it still happens .. you can close your eyes, still it happens .. you can be "neutral", it still happens .. you can pretend its fine, it still happens .. when you choose to "wait it out" I and many others see you exactly for who you are ... the ones who quietly join whatever is closest to you for false security .. you are the people who turned your neighbor in, you are the ones who didnt mind if it didn't happen to you. You are every adult in my childhood that KNEW what was happening to me and chose to be quiet. You are the reason i studied ww2 i wanted to inderstand how regular humans became monsters. Never did i think I think I would get to see this in person. Here we are. Here we mother fucking are.

To my mama friends who are or have just sent their daughters to university in these times I see you. It is impossible not to worry because men (yes it is all men until it is no men) we also must remember we raised strong feral women who know they dont have to be polite, nice or fair. I fight everyday for a better world for women and childern. I wish my kid going to uni was just an exciting milestone not prepping her to walk into battle every day 😫 😒 😕 🙄 😪

Caught this headstand under the brigde before the canal at the head of trent regatta. I loved all the things about this uni but also swim in the darkness with the SA, harassment and other stats of grossness that one must really dig for when looking at schools. Wouldnt be nice to tour a school and have them be transparent with how they will keep your child safe.

Heavy post sure the fucking world is heavy. I have daughters, I refuse to look away. I refuse to model the behavior i was shown as a young women. (Just incase any butler or smith family memeber sees this it is why i cut you completely for my life i dont have space for people who support and protect p3d○s and gRAPEist) you are either an ally or you are the enemy.

I am cool if you unfollow me, the "not all men crowd" the your emotional crowd, the secert n*z¡s (ps we all see you) i am over engaging with closed minded adult sized humans.

Eating to properly fuel my body in its 40’s 🔥

I’ve become much more intentional about WHAT I eat, WHEN I eat it, and WHY.

I’m up very early in the morning for work. I don’t want to stay fasted for hours so I break my fast within the first 30-45 minutes of waking up.

Why? Because of what’s happening hormonally in the morning.

Cortisol naturally rises when we wake up — it’s part of the body’s normal process for getting us alert and ready for the day.

So as a woman in my 40’s rather than adding more stress by extending my fast for hours, I use that first meal as an opportunity to fuel my body intentionally.

Protein is a priority. I don’t have a massive meal this early in the morning, often a scoop of grass fed beef protein in some water or something light. I try to eat healthy whole foods and aim for around 130g of protein throughout the day to support muscle maintenance and recovery.

I use carbohydrates strategically, particularly around training, because they’re an important source of fuel for performance.

I’m not afraid of healthy fats, vegetables or carbs. I’m learning how to use food strategically instead of labeling it “good” or “bad.”

Even little things like eating protein off my plate first before my veggies and carbohydrates, and taking a 10–20 minute walk after meals when I can, are things I’ve incorporated because of what they can do for satiety and blood sugar.

This isn’t about eating less.

It’s about learning to FUEL better.

Understanding what I’m eating, why I’m eating it, and how it supports what I’m asking my body to do.

Will this work for everyone? Maybe not. But I’m sharing it because it’s what has worked for me.

Not restriction. Not perfection. Just being more intentional. 🤍

Training in your 40s is a whole different game.

In my 20s and 30s, I could pretty much train, eat well and see results. Want to build muscle? Train hard. Want to lean out? Clean up your diet and move more.

Then I hit 40… and suddenly my body stopped playing by the same rulebook.

At 42, after a couple of years focused on building strength and muscle, I decided I wanted to lean out a little and feel better in my body.

And honestly? It was HARD.

I was doing the same things that had always worked, but the results weren’t happening.

So I had to get more strategic.

I did my bloodwork. I changed how I ate. I changed how I trained. I paid more attention to recovery and, most importantly, I started paying attention to what MY body needed now.

I still use Hannah Eden as my trainer. I use her knowledge and programs, sometimes following them exactly and sometimes modifying them based on my goals and what my body needs.

I prioritized protein, fueled my workouts, cleaned up some of my eating and cut back on sugary drinks and snacks. And yes… giving up some of the sweets was HARD.

But here’s what I learned:

I didn’t need to change everything.

I just needed to change the things that mattered.

My 40s have taught me that getting results isn’t necessarily about doing MORE.

It’s about being smarter and more strategic.

If you’re in your 40s and wondering why what used to work isn’t working anymore, you’re not broken.

You may just need a new strategy for a new season.

And honestly? I’m finding this season pretty damn cool!

Continuously evolving into a stronger version of myself ❤️

It’s been a few weeks since I practiced SugarCane Pose and I missed it. I miss my dear friends here on IG also.

Life’s been crazy! So many ups and downs. My mom is still in the rehab and I have no idea when she will be discharged. I’ve also been hard at work developing my 100 hr Meridian Yin YTT which just had its full first day today. It was amazing 🤩

I opened up my IG this morning and @sophie_seoul_yoga beautiful sugarcane pose popped up in my feed I sent her a message and told her I was definitely doing one today! Thank you sis for the inspiration and your dedication.

The Gladiator Snatch. Because sometimes fitness should just be FUN.

I saw the incredibly strong @thekettlebellclassroom do this! I started light and worked my way up to using double 30lbs KB’s. The pull ups after were inspired by Jamie as well. The way they challenged your grip strength was crazy!

Not every workout needs to be serious. Not every movement needs to be perfect. Sometimes you just grab a kettlebell, try something that challenges you, and have a damn good time doing it.

The Gladiator Snatch brings coordination, strength, athleticism, and a whole lot of fun.

I train to get stronger. I train to stay capable. I train because I genuinely love what my body can do.
And honestly? Playing around with movement is one of my favourite parts.

To all my Kettlebell Queens... don’t be afraid to get creative, try something new, and enjoy the process.

Train hard. Move well. Have fun.

That’s the whole damn point. 🔥

• Double kettlebell clean + press

While the world is going crazy over a HYROX athlete having an accident during competition and Sydney Sweeney nearly naked in a sports ad, I can’t help but wonder if we’ve missed the mark on what women in sports have the opportunity to represent.

Hear me out.

Women have fought hard for recognition, respect, and opportunities in the fitness and sports world. We’ve worked for a seat at the table. We’ve pushed boundaries, broken records, and proven that we belong in our division.

So why do we keep feeling the pressure to use sex and shock value to capture attention?

I’m not here to judge another woman’s choices. Every woman has the right to show up however she chooses. But I do believe we need to ask ourselves what we’re contributing to the conversation.

Because I want to see women celebrated for their strength. Their discipline. Their resilience. Their consistency.

I want young girls to see women who inspire them to pick up weights, run their first race, push through a hard workout, and believe in what their bodies are capable of.

I want the conversation to be about what we can DO, not just what we look like doing it.

And that’s where I’ll continue to stand.

I’m not here to chase shock value. I’m not here to rely on sex appeal to sell fitness.

I’ll be here. Keeping it about the fitness. The work. The consistency. The uncomfortable days when nobody is watching.

Because building a strong body and a strong mind doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through showing up, again and again.

And that message will always be worth sharing.
Women are capable of so much more than being attention-grabbing. Let’s not forget the power of being inspiring.
