Some weekends leave your heart feeling so full. Watching our best friend’s daughter get married, seeing Matt officiate their wedding, watching our kids laugh together, and spending time with people who have become family… it was one of those weekends that reminds me what really matters. I don’t ever want to take these moments for granted. Life moves fast, but love asks us to slow down. To be present. To hug a little longer. To say the words. To cheer each other on. To celebrate. To cry together. To choose vulnerability over pretending we don’t need one another. The older I get, the more I realize that the greatest gift in life isn’t what we accomplish, it’s who we get to love and who loves us in return. I’m incredibly grateful for the family I was given, the family I’ve built, and the family we’ve chosen along the way. Here’s to choosing love, spreading love, and never missing an opportunity to let your people know how much they mean to you.

Your trust over the years means everything. I’ve built my business around making the process seamless, and I’m lucky to have a team (shoutout to Dave Pettit 🙌) that helps make that happen. Thinking about buying or selling? Let’s talk. You won’t regret it. #UtahRealEstate #ClientLove #BrookMadsen #heapmadsenteam

@brightonaday Legacy: We met @bethanytenney @kevingtenney family under the hardest circumstances. When they lost their little girl, we heard their story through mutual friends, and I knew I had to meet them. My heart broke for them. From that moment on, we’ve been friends ever since. When Brighton passed, my little Ava had just been born. I remember feeling so guilty bringing my newborn to her funeral, knowing her family had just lost their precious girl. But Kevin and Bethany’s strength was something I’ll never forget. Brighton’s funeral was filled with every emotion—sadness, joy, even anger—but most of all, love. Her dad, Kevin, said something that has stuck with me ever since: “This little girl has taught me to hope in humanity.” And he was right. I still remember the Brighton fundraiser and how many people came out to support. We completely sold out at the shop because so many wanted to help. The love and kindness were overwhelming. Even now, Brighton’s impact is everywhere. She continues to inspire us to love more, be kinder, and lift others up. Thinking of the Tenny family today and always. This was Brighton’s favorite song, and I still remember it being performed at her funeral like it was yesterday. It was beautiful. Every time I hear “One Call Away,” I always think of her and her family. @brightonaday #AngelDay #MakeTheWorldMoreBrighty

2024…. My daughter gave me some good advice last night…she said “Dad we are too blessed to be so stressed.” AMÉN! That’s exactly what I needed to hear as a reminder. So much growth. So much change. So much pain, but also so much joy and new adventures! Excited to see what 2025 has in store for me and my people.

Happy October y’all! Here’s a September photo dump just to catch you up on all the life things that have been happening! Lots of quality time with my girls (hiking, playing hooky from school to go get ice cream/acaí bowls, recreating old photos, watching scary movies, etc.) My Dad recently you got diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer and is currently fighting that, which sucks. Good times with good friends (hung out with @thomasdelauer and @billmaeda in Oahu, went to Vegas to spend time with old friends from Utah, currently have friends visiting from Utah at the moment). Trying my best to live my best life before I get too old. Life is too short. Memento Mori (Remember that you will die). So get busy living!

I feel a heavy weight settle in my heart this morning. The awareness that two of my best friends will face their worst nightmare once again is heartbreaking. You see, the curious thing about trauma is that the details fade over time. The memories blur as our brains try to shield us from the pain. Yet, the ache remains just as unbearable as it once was. When Bethany and Kevin lost Brighty we didn’t know what to do so we created a family, a tribe. A place filled with love, acceptance, understanding, empathy, and abundant growth opportunities. My best friends lost their daughter, and together we entered the darkness. We didn’t try to fix things or change them. Instead, we simply sat with them, loved them, held them close, shared laughter, partied together, and traveled side by side. We were just there for them. If you know someone going through grief, don’t say nothing, do something, say something. Just sit with them. Express your love, share your own pain, and find a way to Brighton their day. That’s exactly what Bethany and Kevin did during the worst moments of their lives – they Brightoned other people’s days. So, in honor of Brighty’s Angel Day, do something kind for someone and let my friends know about it. I assure you, they would appreciate hearing how their daughter made a difference in your life today. @bethanytenney and @kevingtenney , I love you more than words can express.
