A hilarious book about what makes Squares and Triangles different and how they find common ground and use each other's strengths to build a rocket. It's properly absurd and exciting and I didn't think I would find simple shapes so funny and endearing but that's the genius of out of this world, unique and superb Kevin Jenner.

I was asked recently by an early childhood educator for book suggestions on the topic of shapes and patterns. Thought I’d share some titles I recommended. I didn’t have access to the Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen shape trilogy otherwise I would’ve added them too!

$We are the Shapes —————————————————————— Shapes are very much like people. Sometimes we get along and sometimes we’re just not the right ‘fit’ 😉 @kevinjennerwinter cleverly explores the relationship of shapes in his GORGEOUSLY illustrated book. I used Jenner’s illustrations as inspiration, making his three lead characters- Square, triangle and Circle. I crafted our three shapes from cardboard, acrylics and our trusty glue gun. Making them three dimensional. I popped book film on the back of each, so H and I could look at fractions together. The book film made them wipeable and reusable. These cute little shapes are going to be fantastic learning resources as we navigate fractions through year 2! Thank you Kevin, for letting us review your wonderful book.
