Obsydians' “Ascension” has officially passed 1 million streams on Spotify!
In today’s world, where many bands reach massive numbers in a very short time, 1 million streams over 8 years may not seem huge. But for our small project: a band that exists as rarely as a change of era, with absolutely no promotion behind it, this is a milestone we are truly proud of, and happy to share with you.
Thank you for all your support through the years. We are currently working on new Sybreed music. Time is never really on our side, but as we already said: we are not going to rush anything.

Sybreed (2003–2014, 2025–present)
_______________________________________________
Sybreed started up in Geneva, Switzerland back in 2003 when Benjamin Nominet and Thomas “Drop” Betrisey linked up and decided to build something different. Even the name — short for “synthetic breed” — tells you what they were aiming for. Their whole vibe was heavy, futuristic, and dark in a really cool, intentional way.

They blended groove, industrial elements, and melodic death metal, which gave their music that cold, sci-fi edge they became notorious for. Through the 2000s they dropped four albums — “Slave Design”, “Antares”, “The Pulse of Awakening”, and “God Is an Automaton” — each one sharpening their sound and pushing it into its own lane.

Benjamin’s vocals always carried real emotion, switching between harsh and melodic tones with the perfect balance of intensity. Drop handled guitar and programming, giving the band that tight, cyber-metal feel where everything hits a little more unique. Different bassists and drummers came through over the years, but the heart of the band always stayed the same.

They stepped away in 2014, and for a long time it felt like that might’ve been the end. But the 20th anniversary of “Slave Design” brought some attention back to their early days, the band officially returned in 2025.

They have since teased and released new music and started a whole new chapter. They also brought back Ales Campanelli (Bass) and Kevin Choiral (Drums) which is awesome.

The release of the new Sybreed shirts has been postponed to October 3rd - 5PM (CET)
With the current shipping situation, placing an order now would not only mean excessive costs, but also the risk of packages being delayed, blocked or even returned. We’d rather wait to make sure everyone gets their order safely and fairly, and that everybody has the same chance to grab one.
Thanks for bearing with us!

As you may have heard, shipping costs and taxes from Europe to the USA have skyrocketed. Unfortunately, we’re forced to suspend all USA shipments for now, while we look for a solution to avoid charging you absurd fees. We’re truly sorry about this situation, we’re all in the same boat. Costs will inevitably rise, but we’re working hard to keep the increase as low as possible. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have news.
