📽️New documentary【香港野鳥拯救日記 \\ HK Wild bird Rescue Diary】 📢Youtube link in Bio and story highlight 📢 (Scroll down for English) 係街到見到雀仔係地下，應該點做？ Found a bird laying on the group? What should you do? Bring it back home or send it to the Rescue centre in Kadoorie Farm? What will happen once animals reach the rescue centre? Kadoorie Farm is home to the only wildlife rescue centre in Hong Kong. Each spring, they will receive a huge amount of fledglings during the breeding season. However, citizens know very little about what happened to the birds after sending them to the rescue centre. This video will reveal how birds will be treated, from stabilisation to release! Support @kadooriefarmandbotanicgarden by becoming a supporter of the Fauna Conservation Fund: https://www.kfbg.org/tc/donation/fauna-conservation-fund/ 伸延閱讀 Further Reading: 遇到年幼雀鳥怎麼辦? 😗🧐🤨 Eh? What is Ugly food? Is it eatable? Ugly or Misshapen Food is eatable but just less appealing to a customer due to its weird appearance. Therefore, customers and sellers seldom or never purchase them, leaving them to become food waste in landfills. What a waste! In fact, we throw a lot of food, 3,353 tonnes, meaning that you are throwing 448g of food to the landfills each day! Actually, we only eat on average of 1.15kg food each day in Hong Kong. This means if we eat 100g worth of food, we are throwing 39g of food away. Other than Carbon dioxide, food waste generates methane (CH4) in landfills. methane is also one of the greenhouse gases (GHGs) which is more than 28 times as potent as carbon dioxide (CO2) at trapping heat in the atmosphere. According to @projectdrawdown , we could avoid emitting 10 gigatons of CO2 — equivalent to taking 2,570 coal-fired power plants offline by halving our food waste in next 30 years. Luckily, therefore some organizations in Hong Kong devoted themselves to redirecting the excess food from farmers, supermarkets, and restaurants to the needy, such as @foodlinkhk , @food_grace , and @feedinghk 👍. （由於疫情，「中環農墟」現暫停運作，請留意嘉道理最新公告） Aside from donating to the charity, what could you help? In fact, @kadooriefarmandbotanicgarden organises the Central Farmers’ Market at the Star Ferry Pier on every Sunday. Allowing customer to purchase local, organic food, ugly food more conveniently from the local farmers. Check it out when you walk pass the pier next time! Support our local farmers. (In the light of recent health condition, Central Farmers’ Market is temporality closed until notice.) (篇文未完，留言區仲有 Read more in comment)
