When I started going by DoctorJonPaul in 2014, my goal was to remind other queer/LGBTQ Black boys with soft mannerisms and bigger bodies that they matter. Yesterday was PROOF that being your authentic self can and will change the world.

From snatching awards to walking my first category, yesterday was EVERYTHING.

I want to thank everyone who made yesterday special (@cervantesforsenate and @calgbt) but more my hubs @jonathansquared who keeps me encouraged to keep doing what I do. Love each and every one of you and keep showing up and taking up space, AUTHENTICALLY!

San Francisco - you never disappoint. Thank you to everyone who showed up to the @glbt_history museum last night but more, thank you to my friends & chosen family for coming to see me when I know you all have so many things happening around you.

More, I’m so glad I got to do a stop in the city that really makes me feel like I can be me! This tour has really tried to take it out of me at moments, but it has also restored me in so many ways.

Grateful beyond words! Also, HAPPY PRIDE! 🏳️‍🌈

Had a wonderful time with @gsanetwork, @tswiberkeley and @ucsbmcc yesterday talking about my book baby. Also got to encourage queer folks to be more bold and audacious. Also got to see my favorite babies @j.helton.art and @kgborland.

Thank you @jgialoving for putting this together and for reminding me of why I do what I do. You are such a beautiful example of that. Love you beyond the stars. ⭐️
