Bismah said one of her current goals is expanding representation of Muslims and other minority groups through her art. This past year, in her AP 2D class at Kirkwood High School, Bismah concentrated on Pakistani culture as a theme for her artwork all year. Bismah said she created pieces based on sayings her mom would use, henna and she even did a redrawing of one of her mom’s wedding photos. Bismah said she will likely open art commissions this summer (@bismaharts ). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bismah doesn’t have any set plans for where she will attend college or what career she will pursue after she graduates KHS in 2020, but she does know she wants to participate in civil rights activism efforts within the Muslim community. Bismah said she is inspired by the work her brother does through The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) and could see herself working with a similar organization to concentrate on activism surrounding Muslim women. Bismah said her major goal for her future is to give back to the community that has been at the center of her life.
