Guys I had a really epic 37th birthday! I fished the annual Kids Can Fish Running of The Bulls Resfish Tournament and I did really well. I brought home 2nd place with a 40 inch beast and won Calcutta with a 32.5 inch fish with 24 spots! I had an epic time with my wife, sons, and a bunch of great friends. We fought tough weather and monster tides and still came out on top landing 4 fish total. It was an epic weekend with a lot of my favorite people and I appreciate all the love and support I received from all of you! Here’s to 37 and many more 🍻

Game day for my brother and the rest of the Chapin Eagles! And in the words of @alafiacastcompany “But first we fish” 🎣

Headed back to Saint Simons Island, GA with @kidscanfish for round 2 of trying to catch a bull redfish! I got some good practice surf fishing with them once, so let’s hope the practice pays off and the sharks bite anyone else’s hook 😂

Bait of the day was brought to you by @magicbaits_fishinglures 🔥 Go check them out!

Have a great weekend and get outdoors!

Day 2: All Bonnets, No Bulls.

I’m still 0-for-life on catching a redfish in the surf. It’s my white whale. Call me Ishmael.

Will we do it again next year? One-hundo-p, as the kids say.

Let me know when 2027 registration opens, @kidscanfish! I’ll be there with “bulls” on.

Every Columbus Day weekend, @kidscanfish brings anglers of all ages to St. Simons Island for the Running of the Bulls Charity Surf Redfish Tournament.

Day 1 brought great weather, a few unexpected catches, and some pretty incredible moments on the sand.

It’s all for a great cause: getting kids outdoors, on the water, and hooked on fishing.

Here’s a glimpse of Day 1. More fishing tomorrow, with the full story coming soon to RetireSouthern.com.

He’s our biggest supporter, a great father, community volunteer, fishermen, fabulous cook and one hell of a great guy.

Simply stated, Leighton Johnson of Cornerstone First Mortgage Coastal GA ensured early, through his financial contributions, that the Kids Can Fish Foundation was set up for success!

Leighton has single handedly influenced our outreach allowing KCF to impact over 2000 kids through 49 hosted events over the last six years.

As far as a Title Sponsor goes, it doesn’t get much better. Let’s all give that big Kids Can Fish “thank you” to Leighton for his incredible support.

Had a great weekend in Georgia! We went down to for the @kidscanfish camp, but the weather didn’t cooperate. But thanks to our buddy Tom, we still had a great weekend of fishing! We had a goal to catch some bull reds, and even though we didn’t catch one, we caught a ton of sharks, 2 stingrays, and 2 saltwater catfish. It was a great weekend and I can’t wait to share more on the @yoursaltwaterguide62 podcast this Wednesday!

This time next week we will be on the beach in our first fishing tournament since moving south. Two days chasing Bull Reds from the beach with Olds and my daughter. Can’t wait to make some memories! Who else is fishing in the @kidscanfish Running of the bulls? #fishing #sunrise #memories
