After months of interviewing with dozens of qualified candidates, we are happy to share that we have hired our first Executive Director, Kiera Smalls (@kierasmalls).

Smalls has spent most of her career connecting resources and opportunities to systemically disadvantaged communities within multiple industries including health and fitness, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Over the last decade, she’s helped build companies, advocated for resources that uplift Black, Indigenous, and people of color, and increased diversity within Philadelphia’s running community.

“Reaching RIDC’s vision as an industry will require immense collaboration with the primary focus of uplifting the voices of the communities we serve,” said Kiera Smalls, Executive Director. “I hope to see the RIDC as the go-to resource for all things DEI in the running industry, from education to corporate responsibility, to community enhancement."

✨ Personal news✨: After an incredible three years, I’ll be leaving my role as Marketing Manager for Indego bike share in a few weeks. I joined in early 2015 when Indego was still in development. We received our first delivery of bikes on the first day of Spring (it was snowing!). On April 23rd, we hosted an epic launch event at Eakins Oval and released 600 bikes and 60 stations. Close to 2 million rides later and Indego has completely changed transportation in Philly. I’m incredibly lucky to have been a part of the team behind Indego’s success. I’ll announce my next adventure soon. For now, I just want to take time to reflect on this once in a lifetime experience. If we've ever worked together or if you've ever used Indego, thank you! #RideIndego ❤️🚲
