World Championships Ironman 70.3 - Nice πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

It’s just incredible how all of this happened 😍

Annabel finishing 7th in the world, after being so stressy in the days leading up to the race. And still being able to achieve something like this. And our golden boy, who dreamed of becoming world champion. He was second on the line, butttt someone started later behind him… Sam eventually finished 3rd. I am so so so proud of these two. 🦁

Besides that, the full week in Nice was just amazing. But honestly, I don’t know if I’m completely satisfied with my pics. There are definitely some bangers in here, as always, but I feel like I could have done even better on the photography side. So check out my reels ;)

One thing I am sure of: the atmosphere was WOWWIE. I’ve never seen that many people in one place, around a triathlon. Getting to certain locations without accreditation, no motorbike and just the finish line wasn’t easy. πŸ₯²

Btw, it was really cool to see that the women and men each had a day for themselves. That meant they both got β€œequal” attention, which I think is super important.
Blummie… how in the world can you run that fast?! πŸ˜‚ Seriously, insane!
Going back to the accreditation situation: we tried to get one, but we were too late + Ironman is a hater?!? On Saturday I asked IM again but I guess I have got to find other ways in the future…

But for now… this is it. It kind of feels like the 2026 season has come to an end, and we are slowly entering the winter period. Less clients, less work, and finally some time to rest as well. August was absolutely crazy. I still have some unfinished work laying around so vacation has to wait aha.

Thank you. I really appreciate all the support and appreciation I get from you guys. It genuinely makes my work better, even though this week was super stressful and I was absolutely cooked, I love it. MORE WORK LIKE THIS PLEASE!!!!πŸ’•

Let’s build something cool. I hope to start posting more again on social media, love some support to boost my audience. 2027 will be insane with this team!

2026 is not done yet so slide in my DM’s or via seppe@sepgee.com for any event, race, wedding? You name it

As always 😌

Three years ago, I came to spectate this race for the first time - where I not only swore I’d never do it, I actually cried coming up Three Bears, wondering why on earth anyone would want to do that climb, let alone twice, let alone in a race that’s followed by a marathon.

But I came back the following year in 2023, did the same route, didn’t cry, and started to truly fall in love with Lake Placid.

As I sat outside of Lisa G’s last year, still there strictly just to spectate, I had Mirror Lake at sunset set as the background of my phone and that flip floppy feeling in my stomach, the one that told me, at my core, that I needed to experience the actual race in 2025.

Feeling more connected to this race than I did even to Nice, I came out of last years IMWC build with two goals - to podium at Placid and, for as simple as it sounds, to hold on loosely - to be so connected to the goal, but to truly enjoy the build along the way. Tuesday morning swims with @katierunsarownd , @maddie_aguirre_, + @caroline_gore, track sessions with @phillyrunnertc, river loops with @ethanjhermann, team rides in Lancaster, and, crucial to the overall joy of said build, Sunday afternoon margs with my favorite people.

So after what felt like a crappy swim on Sunday ended up being a surprisingly nice 57.09, the rain drenched bike course ticked by nicely (didn’t even cry), thanks to 5 bottles of @maurten_official 320 + 6 Maurten gels (550g/ carbs for the data nerds πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ).

As for the run, I had Nothings Gonna Hurt You Baby by Cigarettes After Sex stuck in my head, took Andrew’s advice of β€˜stay patient’ very literally, and climbed my way up from 4th. Thanks to a cool rain, our prototype performance hats from @ultracool.tech, and another 340g/carbs, I rounded out the run in a 3:12, finishing 1st AG, 2nd OA in a 9:57, thanks in massive part to next level scream cheers from the @yoderperformance spectating squad.

For a course I never thought I’d do, Placid delivered in a way that only it can.

Just wildly grateful for all of it.
Calm, steady, trust: onwards to the rest of the season πŸ’™
