$15,718.00. 🫂✨ Saying "we raised" doesn't feel right, because the truth is: YOU GAVE that much. We don't even know how to thank you all without choking up. None of you had to do any of this. You moved entirely from the goodness of your hearts, out of love for making the world a better place, and we had a great fucking time doing it together. Soulstice was a resounding success, raising about $13K for Ongoing Mutual Aid for Sudan and Mob Strong. Our deepest gratitude to: The Grace Darling Hotel for trusting us and donating your space, time, energy, and labor. The performing & visual artists for sharing your invaluable talent and electric energy. To our gorgeous team of volunteers, florists, readers, chefs, servers, ticket sellers, MC's and back end t organisers who put in endless hours beforehand and on the day. Every single attendee who bought a ticket, showed up, and brought so much love. Thank you all for your sacrifice, your giving, and your beautiful resistance. We love this growing community so much—we would be absolutely nothing without every single one of you. ❤️‍🔥 More incredible pics to come from @ordinarystreet

SOULSTICE SUNDAY FEAST incoming. 🐔 We’ve got Naarm-born, Aotearoa-rooted culinary weapon Max on the tools this weekend. Max has been cheffing straight out of the womb (well, 5+ years, close enough) and has one main goal: feeding you exceptionally good food. The Menu: 🔥 Semi-classic charcoal chicken 🥗 Fresh slaw & charred corn 🍠 Fried kūmara 🌱 Vegan, veggie, and GF baddies fully looked after with love! 📌 A quick PSA for the foodies: Max’s charcoal chicken is 100% Halal and ethically funded. Because unlike some spots (looking at you, El Jannah, selling out to private equity with ties to apartheid and genocide), we actually care where the money goes. No corporate sell-outs here—just pure community vibes and incredible food. See you Sunday! Link in bio for details. 🍗✨

"Oh my God I love this song" ... is the usual reaction we get from our interstitial selector for the evening, none other than the illustrious and magical Komang. The Balinese-Australian artist creates lush alternative R&B described as 'neo-soul' with Balinese spirits. For the night she'll be on the ones and twos between our live acts. Sonic decadence is a guarantee. Get your tickets baby! 📸 Lucile Bone 📹 Shannon May Powell

Eid Mubarak friends. A gentle reminder this is what we're raising funds for. Eid is a time of love and celebrations yet millions of people remain without bare basic human needs. The funds this month are a little on the low side as I haven't been able to pull off a fundraiser in May so I'm asking you to consider donating directly or setting up a recurring payment if you can't make it to Soulstice. Both links in bio. That said, being Sudanese is not all pain and suffering, (although I implore you to sit long enough with reality) and then share release and connection with us. You might be wondering, why throw a party? Perhaps for the same reason we go to parties and concerts and nice dinners every other weekend, to feel something positive, to be moved, inspired, connected. Because being Sudanese is also about love, music, dance, wisdom, culture, immense richness. Things they want to take take away from us. We won't let them. Join us. Love, Bakri 📹 @hellojackiedixon

Up next we have the maestro of good vibes and reliable administrator of happy times @_mothafunk A true music industry polymath, Mothafunk has thrived as a Triple R radio host, event curator, and journalist, with bylines in MixMag AU/NZ and Vice Australia, plus hosting panels and artist talks. Her sets are a masterclass in sonic fluidity, weaving rare grooves, global club heat, and hidden classics into electrifying journeys. Crissy has warmed up stages for heavyweights like Ezra Collective, Detroit In Effect, and Seun Kuti, and delivered standout performances at festivals including Meredith, Strawberry Fields, and When Pigs Fly. Whatever the function, Mothafunk has the repertoire to soundtrack it.
