From shared roots to shared prosperity. 🌍

Africa’s next chapter of wealth creation calls for capital, ownership and trust.

At the 126th National Business League Conference in Atlanta, AEG Co-Founders Osa Aihie, COO, and Fabien Anthony, CIO, brought a practical focus to Pan-African trade and investment.

The questions at our roundtable:

💼 How do we mobilize capital while strengthening African ownership?
🌍 How do we navigate cross-border risk with greater understanding?
🤝 How do we turn diaspora connections into lasting trade and investment partnerships?

Building on a legacy of Black enterprise that began in 1900, the session explored how Africa and its diaspora can create enduring pathways to shared prosperity.

Thank you to everyone who brought their experience, ambition and commitment to the conversation.

Let’s carry that energy into execution. Connect with AEG to explore what we can build together.

Some rooms remind you why the work matters.

I had a deeply meaningful time at the Global Africa Summit by the @africa_investment_network , connecting with changemakers across Africa and the global African diaspora.

I was honored to participate in the panel, “Scalable Ventures & Workforce Development: Building Pathways to Economic Equity and Contract Readiness.” The conversation focused on practical strategies for scaling businesses, developing talent pipelines, strengthening contract readiness, expanding access to capital and markets, and building public-private and global partnerships that create shared prosperity.

A highlight of the summit was meeting Congresswoman Eva Clayton, the first African American woman from North Carolina elected to the U.S. Congress.

The discussions at GAS Charlotte reinforced what I believe deeply as Founder of @theafricanthinktank : partnerships are most powerful when they move us from conversation to execution, from potential to opportunity, and from individual success to collective prosperity.

Thank you so much to @taylorsmithusa and @kimberlyedmonds for the invitation and the connections. Huge thanks to @nick_sturdivant and @mr.j.hill for having us at the @wcnctv studios!

September is African Diaspora Heritage Month!

This month, we celebrate the rich histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions of African Diaspora communities—across generations, countries, and borders.

For The African Think Tank, this celebration is deeply connected to our work of building belonging and strengthening connections across the diaspora. We were proud to champion this recognition in North Carolina, where Governor Roy Cooper acknowledged African Diaspora Heritage Month in 2024.

That acknowledgment was a meaningful moment, but the celebration is much bigger than any one state. It is about honoring our shared heritage, recognizing the impact of our communities today, and continuing to build stronger connections for generations to come. Special shoutout to our Charlotte team @taylorsmithusa and @kimberlyedmonds for leading this work!

This September, celebrate your heritage, share your story, and learn from someone else’s.

👑🇬🇭 A ROYAL HOMECOMING TO CHARLOTTE.

This one is special.

His Royal Majesty Notse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, Paramount Chief of the Osu Traditional Area in Accra, Ghana, is joining the Global Africa Summit Charlotte as a Distinguished Guest.

And for Charlotte, it’s a true full-circle moment.

Before ascending to traditional leadership in Ghana, His Royal Majesty built deep ties to North Carolina—pursuing his doctoral studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, becoming a practicing attorney, and being admitted to practice law in Mecklenburg County.

Now, he returns as a Paramount Chief—and he’s bringing a delegation ready to connect and do business. 🇬🇭🤝🇺🇸

His Royal Majesty will lead CEOs, business executives, government and institutional leaders from Ghana, including Ms. Evelyn Abakah, CEO of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, to engage around trade, investment and economic opportunity.

From practicing law in Mecklenburg County ➡️ to returning as a traditional leader at the head of a Ghanaian delegation.

What a homecoming. 👑

Charlotte’s Ghanaian, African, African American, Caribbean and broader diaspora communities—this is a moment to SHOW UP. 🌍

🌍🇨🇩 CULTURAL IMMERSION TOUR OF CHARLOTTE 🇺🇸

On June 14, 2026, International House, UMOJA – Congo Impact Network, FICE USA, Amani Kids, and community partners successfully hosted a Cultural Immersion Tour highlighting the rich heritage, history, and contributions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Charlotte. Through historical presentations, personal immigrant stories, cultural experiences, visits to local businesses, traditional Congolese cuisine, community engagement, and worship, participants gained a deeper understanding of the Congolese community and its impact on our city. The event fostered meaningful dialogue, strengthened relationships across cultures, and celebrated the diversity that makes Charlotte stronger. Participants left with greater cultural awareness, new connections, and a renewed appreciation for the resilience, contributions, and vibrant culture of the Congolese community. Together, we demonstrated that cultural exchange is a powerful bridge for building understanding, inclusion, and lasting community partnerships.
