On Saturday evening I had time to get onto this month’s @barbieclubinternational zoom call 💻 👩‍💻👭👫 💕 🙌 🎉 YESSSSS DOLL THINGS!!! 😆 @kimisbarbies and the rest of the team do an excellent job of organising and hosting each call. There’s always something fun happening. Part way through this zoom call Barbie came up and sat with me 🥹

This month Heather of @pikespeakdoll gave a presentation about her year of “non spending” for her hobby. She discussed what creative ideas and projects she came up with instead. It was a super informative and fun and I especially liked as she ran us through each month with pictures. She showed us what she had made, found, thrifted or been gifted… it gave me some ideas for things I could maybe have a go at myself …. 🤔

The desk in my doll room is currently a mixture of mess and organised stuff 😆 You know how it is 💁🏻‍♀️ It’s been neglected for a while now due to everything else 😔 I wanted to try and start pulling out some miniatures for a diorama I’d like to do soon. There is a theme 🐶 🐾 😆

I’m thinking when time permits I may redo my Shelfie Dioramas as the doll room is SOOOOO DUSTY now 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I thought it might be a good way of getting back into doll things whilst also doing a cleaning task 🧼

A massive thank you again to everyone who has been supporting us on our journey with Mindy and her recovery from IVDD. For those who don’t know we are now into week 8 post injury and Conservative Care at home. It’s been tough, it continues to be tough but we have a routine now and a plan. Hopefully this week she’ll be booked on to start hydrotherapy 💦 🐾 which is a huge step forward.

You really have meant the world to us during this time 🫂 🥹 xxxxxx We could not have done what we have so far without you 🥹🥹

#missionmindy update!! 🤗 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕 I’m absolutely shattered this evening so forgive the short caption. But seriously how incredible is this community!!! 🥹

So far your funds have already paid for numerous in person vets appointments & phone check ups, medication, veterinary physio first consultation, large crate, our first few lots of baby wipes / puppy pads prior to setting up our Amazon Wishlist and soon a specialist fitted harness.

Thank you so so so so sooooooo much xxx 🥹 You are making an incredibly difficult time that bit less stressful.

per usual, i got some amazing gifts at #barbiecon2026 in Austin. @catching_upwith_thecottrells gifted this amazing 3d printed copper chair, @kimisbarbies sewed this custom 94 vintage-style jersey top, and @ornch.u.glad gifted these cute green pinstriped shorts!

i found the the orange pinstriped chair at @tjmaxx!

months ago, i went to a flea market that typically just has flowers & plants, antique art, and old books. of course, I spotted some Barbie stuff and found a vintage, mod-era Twiggy barbie dress (from 1967) with its original scarf and two socks for $12.

i used the scarf to snatch her waist and one of socks to give the allusion of turtleneck, sweater-dress! her collar is separate.

Highlights of the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention, 2026, Austin, Texas #nbdcc2026 #2026bcon #austintexas

This is my final convention post, and one I know a lot of you have been waiting for - THE HAUL!

You may be surprised that I only bought one doll this year. I had been wanting Inspiring Women Frida Kahlo for a while and this was the year for her. There was one other doll I wanted - Coca Cola Santa Ken - but alas I never saw him! I came home with a total of three dolls; Frida, my convention doll, and the Mattel gift this year, a Barbie Basics. I did not initially get the Ken but my sweet friend Eniko @eni_s_playhouse traded with me so I could have him. I then asked her to name him and she gave him the name Rigel, which is the brightest star in the Orion constellation. How perfect is that?! There will be much more on that later when he is officially introduced.

This year I found that my most sought treasures were not dolls, but their tiny things! Clothes, furnishings, accessories, food and drink, and mementos of another fabulous year with friends! So of course you know we must join @barbienamibia for #lookatmytinystuff with all of this!

I was not on a gifting table this year and while I did miss the fun of surprises, I also loved being able to choose everything I brought home with intention. Two of my greatest treasures are the photos of @billgreening @billgreening_design dolls taken by Steve @welcome_2_the_dollhouse and signed by both artists. I can't wait to frame them and put them up in my doll room! I am also in love with the chair I made in the @flipndebi_create workshop, and I'm excited to make a second one! I may make extra cushion sets so I can swap out colours and styles as I like! I will also always cherish my friendship bracelets, and every single gift from every single friend! I've tried to tag each one of you, but if I've accidentally missed you please let me know!! I appreciate you all!

I'm going to take some time now to catch up with everyone before we return to our regularly scheduled programming of life in Tawny's Tiny World. Thanks for joining me on this journey of celebration! Happy Wednesday dolls! 🩷

Highlights of the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention, 2026, Austin, Texas #nbdcc2026 #2026bcon #austintexas

One of the biggest highlights of attending National Barbie Collectors Covention is by far the friends I get to see in person! I have a Barbie shirt that reads "Find your tribe, love them hard" and that line could not be more fitting for this event. Imagine being surrounded by 850 people who all love Barbie as much as you do, and practice Barbie's message of "You can be anything". It's pure magic!

If I have any regrets at all about this year's convention it's that there was not enough time to just hang out with everyone and catch up, and I didn't get photos of all of the amazing people I did get to see! Some of my dearest friends are missing from this collection and for that I apologize - just know I had so much fun hanging with you that I totally forget to even get a photo.

I love you all and if you're not in a photo, know you are definitely in my heart! Special thanks to my hubby too, who may not be a Barbie guy but is always the wind beneath my wings! See you next year Barbie tribe!! 🩷

I’m on a boat and…

Tonight’s dinner theme was Yacht Club. We gave & received table gifts, then witnessed the live auction. We received an exclusive pink & white Tomas Soderberg doll outfit.

@kimisbarbies gifted me this Delia’s catalog from 1997. This catalog came in the mail when I was in middle & high school and I adored all the late 90s/Y2K fashions. What a blast from the past, I almost cried when I opened it.

Have you ever visited a toy museum?

We stopped by @texastoymuseum where I saw practically every toy that’s been produced. I loved spotting my childhood toys, like Littlest Pet Shop, Ninja Turtles & Polly Pocket.

They had a scavenger hunt with a prize bucket. I found everything on the list, so I chose a tiny space gun whistle (I’ll pretend it’s a bubble gun) as my reward.
