The Alaska Marine Highway is my favorite way to travel to Juneau Alaska. The ferries have comfortable cabins and good food. People are so pleasant. It’s a 2 1/2 day trip from Bellingham, WA. #alaskamarinehighway #mvcolumbia #theinsidepassage #indigenousbarbie by @kimisbarbies

Lilly’s friend, Betty, likes to tag along while Lilly fishes for salmon. Lilly has fished since she was a girl when her dad taught her. I was holding my 11-month-old watching “Regis and Kelly” as the 911 attacks were happening. It was the strangest feeling that I had never felt before and have not felt since. For Barbie Convention 2025 I created this photograph at a fire station in Seattle for the “Iconic” theme as firemen (and women) are heros. I based it on this photograph by @nigelparryphoto that was included in the book “Iconic America” by Tommy Hilfiger. Steve at @firedogphotos was so generous to walk me and my sister around the station and turn on the truck lights for me. He suggested this vantage point for this photo. Lily and Morgan booked this trip ages ago. They are traveling on the M/V Columbia from Bellingham, WA to Juneau, AK. This ferry is part of the Alaska Marjne Highway Sysem @alaskamarinehighway has cabins, a dining room, cafeteria, observation lounges and laundry facilities. They are saving money by sleeping in the solarium in their sleeping bags on the chaise lounge chairs. The chart at the Pursor counter reads there are 264 passengers on board. They were so lucky with good weather and seeing humpback whales. **Guess who I ran into at Sitka, one of the stops. These are my room shopping finds from convention and a few gift items. I like finding single pieces of clothing, or shoes here and there. I was on the lookout for some handbags and found some cute ones. I found some neat glasses and sunglasses too. I like ones you can see through. I had a great time filling-a-bag for $10 from a bin filled with random things —> Charlene and I split it!! (See second to last pic.) I love the little flower brooch on Shannon it attaches with a magnet. The hankie dress and silk handbag was made by @pikespeakdoll , @midgelover1963 had cute hoodies made for us and @midgefan73 gave us the NBDCC Travelin’ In Style t-shirts with shorts. Laural gave us her mini doll case and mini toy packages. Room sales is one of my favorite parts of convention. You never know what you’ll find! I love giving and getting gifts as well.
