That day as I was driving with my son Nathanael, he suddenly decided to pick something up from Nael's Book of 1001 Difficult Questions,
"Mom, who is the best of the best doctor?"

I said, "There is no best doctor. God is the ultimate healer. Doctors are only His hands."

"Well, okay. But from the doctors, who is the best?
Like, the super, very, best-est doctor in the whole world?"

Now that's a difficult question.
I hesitated and tried my best,

"I think you expected me to answer something like:
Doctors who performed extremely complex surgeries or procedures

Doctors who brilliantly made the most difficult diagnosis that no other doctor could catch

Nobel-awardee doctors who found something very important for the sake of human lives

That's indeed true. They are great doctors.

But in everyday life, there are...

Dedicated doctors who spend their lives fighting for the health of poor patients in remote areas with very limited resources, where no one would

Army doctors who risk their own lives at the war, to save lives of the wounded & people in war areas

Volunteer doctors in disaster relief team who depart to disaster areas, without knowing what is waiting for them there

Scientist doctors who dedicate their lives in research, night and day, for the better good of people, like what they are doing now with Covid19 and the vaccines

Regulatory & leadership doctors who make good decisions so that people could have access to healthcare

Communicative doctors who take time to teach patients and community on how NOT to be sick

Passionate teachers who give their best to train and turn young medical students to be a great doctor for you in the future

On-call doctors who sacrifice their family time and endure the dissapointment on their children's eyes just to make sure they arrive on time to save your life

Compassionate doctors who not only care about your illness but most importantly about you, advocating your best interest and make you really feel cared for.

Each of them are the best of the best doctors, in their own ways.
Don't you agree?"
