Art is supposed to make you feel something. Today, I feel proud of the art community I'm so lucky to be a part of. Two local artists, @erikschlake and @rolandruocco , created murals recently in honor of the unjust invasion of Ukraine. While on display outside the @allianceforthearts , the murals were vandalized multiple times. But artists never back down from fascists - and so the Alliance commissioned 20 more murals. Over the last 3 weeks, artists from all over Southwest Florida have created this large format paintings to show support for the people of Ukraine. Proceeds from the event will go directly to artists in Ukraine. #allianceforthearts #standwithukraine #artforukraine #presidentzelensky #zelensky #politicalart #protestart #vandalism #fortmyers #swfl #fortmyersflorida #fortmyersphotographer #swflphotographer #jesicason #ukrainemural #🇺🇦

Thousands of Southwest Floridians took to the streets Tuesday night from Sarasota to Cape Coral, chanting "libertad" or "liberate" in support of a series of protests against the Cuban government that began on the island July 11, and that have led to hundreds of arrests of Cuban citizens. "It’s not about food,” says Cuban native Mario Chaoui. “It’s not about medicine. It’s not about all the things that people are saying. It’s all of the above, but more importantly, about freedom and about making sure people, our kids, are not getting killed anymore on the streets in Cuba.” Read more and view photos by photographers @kinfay Moroti and Paul Dengler for WGCU News from the demonstration using the link in bio. ✍️ Tara Calligan, WGCU . . . . . ... #swfl #wgcu #wgcunews #Cuba #cuba #cubasos #PatriaYViva #CubaLibre #Cuba #Freedom #LiveLimitless #Libertad #liberate #libérate #npr #swfl #fortmyers #protest #demonstration #démonstration #fightforcuba #fgcu #npr #pbs

Local photographer and artist @kinfay unveiled his art show dubbed “Inseparable” at the @allianceforthearts in Fort Myers on #mlkday and some of his pieces included local athletes. Kinfay has always used local athletes in his work as many of you have been his subjects before. These are only snippets of some of his work. Worth swinging by to see the full versions and to support this project.

#ThreeSongStories Episode 144 - Kinfay Moroti (Preface: This episode and Kinfay's storytelling left us in awe and even pushed our abilities to navigate ways in which we ask questions. More than just a biography, his song stories had us thinking about our lives and experiences... and the experiences of others.) Kinfay Moroti is an award-winning documentary visual journalist and creator of Hopeful Images — an initiative that helps nonprofit and community organizations tell their stories through compelling visuals and campaigns. Kinfay captured moments for The News-Press/USA Today Network from 2004-19 and during the Iraq War for The St. Petersburg Times — now Tampa Bay Times. His award-winning moments from the war, impoverished communities, mass shootings, and on social topics speak to life's beautiful struggles. His song stories include music by #TupacShakur, #GlenCampbell, and a song written by #LionelRichie and #MichaelJackson. 🎧 ThreeSongStories.org 🎧 Three Song Stories on Spotify 🎧 Three Song Stories on NPR One 🎧 Where ever you get your podcasts ✔ Follow us on Instagram: Three Song Stories . . . . . ... #🎶 #WGCU #SWFL #SongStory #Storytelling #Memories #Podcast #Music #Reflect #Podcasters #Podbean #Podcast #PodcastLife #PodcastersofInstagram #MusicPodcast #FGCU #NPR #Biography #MusicTherapy #Biographies #3ss #3SongStories #Stories
