ROOTED IN LOVE Mia & Carter Inspired by the floral beadwork Carter created for his vest, the palette and design details brought his Métis heritage into the heart of the celebration. Soft blue, rich burgundy and peach unfolded against the warm timber of Buffalo Crossing, with golden light across the water. Honouring Mia’s French roots and Carter’s Métis heritage, the day reflected their shared, down-to-earth spirit; warm, welcoming and deeply personal. Happy first Anniversary to The Ophey’s! One whole year since this perfect autumn wedding day for two people who are equal parts deeply in love and wildly adored by their people. From start to finish, their day was intentionally designed with room to slow down, feel it all, and soak in the presence of the people who matter most. One of the most beautiful parts of the day was the way they honoured Ryan’s late father: subtle, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful. You could quite honestly feel the love in every corner of this celebration. Steph looked timeless, vibrant and elegant in the most effortless way… like she was literally made to be a bride. And Ryan was calm, steady, and so clearly smitten with her! Their vendor team went above and beyond to bring their vision to life, and every detail came together so beautifully for these two honeys. Happy first anniversary, Sarah & Alex! From their very first Tinder match in 2018 to saying I do on the sunniest September day, Sarah & Alex’s love story has been full of laughter, balance, and best-friendship at its core. Their wedding day felt exactly like them; laid back, lighthearted, and full of room to breathe. Their timeline flowed with ease, giving space for quiet moments and for plenty of laughter with their people. Honestly, it’s a signature move of @triciabachewichevents and her team and one of the reasons I love working with them! Family played such a beautiful role throughout their celebration. Alex’s sister officiated the ceremony, and the welcome speeches (overflowing with sibling/parental love and gratitude) left not a dry eye in the room. It was clear that their families weren’t just gaining a new in-law, but truly expanding with another sibling, another kid, and a really good friend. The night ended in the best way possible: a packed dance floor, the kind of party you never want to leave, and the kind of joy that makes you wish you could hit replay in the whole day. The Gerbrandt’s 🤎 08.22.2026 Six years of being each other’s favourite person…. and now officially MARRIED. 🤎 There are so many things I could say about these two, but the way Trevor looked at Sydney on their wedding day pretty much says it all. During their private first look and vows, he completely lost it when he saw her. Our team said they’ve rarely seen such a genuine, emotional reaction from a groom. It was one of those moments that reminded us exactly why we love documenting wedding days. The sentimental details were just as meaningful. Sydney incorporated her grandmother’s wedding veil (around 70 years old!) beneath their wedding cake. Seeing the emotion it brought to her family, especially her mom, made it one of those quiet details none of us will forget. These two have always built their relationship around life’s simply joys; walking their dogs, weekends at the lake, Pad Thai dates, and the picnic proposal that recreated their very first date. Sydney, her bridesmaids, (and Trevor) absolutely TORE IT UP on the d-floor. The energy never dipped, and the team captured some of the most fun reception photos because these two actually stayed out there celebrating with everyone all night long. ✨ The Hidden Attic was a Roaring Success! ✨
 What an incredible evening. Or, as we like to say, what a roaring success thanks to all of you. 
From the moment the doors opened, guests stepped back in time to experience the glamour, fashion, and stories of the 1920s. None of it would have been possible without the generosity, creativity, and support of so many people. 
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, performers, partners, and supporters. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who purchased tickets, bid in the silent auction, made a donation, purchased merchandise, or helped spread the word. Every contribution helps us preserve and share the stories, artifacts, and legacy of Nellie McClung for future generations. If you missed The Hidden Attic, or would like another opportunity to view this remarkable collection of original 1920s fashions, we invite you to visit the Nellie McClung Museum of Canada this July and August. The collection will be on display throughout the summer, giving visitors a chance to experience these extraordinary garments up close and discover the fascinating stories behind them.
