What is written in heaven for us, we shall live out here on earth 🌫️✨🩷🎞️🪄🏐🐎

Dear Mr. @kingdejia , Thank you. From getting an invite to the Lagos Polo Club to being handed a microphone to interview guests and polo players, what a beautiful experience it has been. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity.

Starting with the NPA International Polo Tournament, followed by the 2026 President's Cup @yemo.alakija . Such memorable moments.

God is truly a beautiful writer. ✨

🇳🇬 Polo in Nigeria has seen significant growth in recent seasons, driven by a strategic synergy between politics and sports aimed at positioning the discipline and attracting investment. This momentum was evident last week during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Minna Polo Club.

Members voted unanimously to retain the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Bago, as President. Mohammad Babangida, patron of the Kaduna El-Amin Polo organisation, remains First Vice President. The newly formed Executive Committee consists of seasoned polo players and industry experts, including Jamilu King, who continues in his role as Polo Manager.

Located in the capital of Niger State, the Minna Polo Club is a prestigious venue within the Nigerian equestrian circuit. It is renowned for hosting national tournaments and serves as a vital hub for the sport in Northern Nigeria, situated in a metropolitan area of 500,000 residents.

The AGM’s decision reflects the members' confidence in the leadership's ability to elevate the sport and establish Minna as a primary polo destination. To provide context, polo clubs in the US and Nigeria have increasingly secured partnerships with airlines, hotel chains, and local governments to stimulate regional and national development.

The new Executive Committee revealed that members have mandated the repositioning of the club to leverage polo as a driver for tourism and economic activity. Upon accepting the presidency, Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration's intent to use the sport as a strategic tool for attracting international investors. He described polo as a vital platform for fostering friendship, national unity, and intercultural understanding, while serving as a catalyst for international diplomacy and business development.
