Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Boyd is a finalist for the 2026 Philanthropist of the Year award!

As the April Most Valuable Philanthropist (MVP), Matt was recognized for his work with Kingdom Home, a non-profit organization he founded with his wife dedicated to ending child exploitation in Uganda. His MVP grant went towards supporting family-style prevention homes that work to protect and provide children with a loving and safe home to grow in.

Each year, Players vote in the Players Choice Awards to recognize their peers for their hard work on and off the field. As part of the nominations, Players elect the Philanthropist of the Year, which celebrates one of the season’s Most Valuable Philanthropists and honors their work with a $25,000 grant. Congratulations to Matt on being a finalist for the 2026 Philanthropist of the Year!

Matthew Boyd has been pitching great of late for the Cubs. He also continues to do awesome work off the field, along with his wife Ashley, with their charity Kingdom Home, as they strive to end child exploitation, specifically in Uganda. They've teamed up with his Cubs teammate Ian Happ and Connect Roasters to raise money for the cause. For more on their coffee collab, you can check out connectroasters.com.
