I stopped deadlifting for 5 years because my right hip would be in pain. Just introduced them back into my lifting earlier in 2026 with no expectations. Even today, I was just pulling on a deadlift bar with a mix of calibrated plates and bumpers without actually counting the weight (some were in kilos, some in pounds). No pain since they been back.

I was just pulling and adding weight on how it felt. Had no idea what I worked up to until @thao_p_ asked if I'd like this recorded.

Been on program with @kingkaf_ but was not asking to be peaked or anything. Just wanted a program to follow, and he was keeping it to only 3 days a week (the other days I bodybuild). I can imagine when he pushes his athletes 5 day peaking blocks he gets some serious results for them.

But I got other plans.

WHY only men?

In Canada, men are 3X more likely to commit suicide than women. In 2024, 4,394 Canadians took their own life and 75% were men.

This issue affects everyone but my focus for this contest is raising awareness for men's mental health.

What a performance from Team Canada at the IPF Open Classic World Championships. The women’s team finished in 3rd place in the Team Rankings, with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze overall to go along with 10 individual lift medals, and the men’s team finished in 5th place in the Team Rankings, with 4 individual lift medals. Congratulations Team Canada!

Team Ontario showed up and showed out at the IPF World Championships in Lithuania this past week! First was Luke Homer placing 4th in the 74kg class hitting a national record squat of 295, a 160 bench press, and a 315 deadlift for a 770 total. Having placed 2nd at nationals and beating out the national champion, Jacob Lavoie, on the day. Next was Kafui Hotsonyame placing 5th with a 290 squat, 182.5 bench, and a PR deadlift of 342.5. Finally was Brittany Schlater, setting a new world record total of 756.5, and bringing her 4th world title home. She hit a 302.5 squat, a 165 bench, and a 289 deadlift. What a phenomenal showing from all three athletes as each athlete either matched or beat their personal best totals on the world stage. Great job!
