4U was an attempt to make sense of a toxic on/off relationship that consumed me. Writing it was therapeutic, but reliving it now shows that I’m no longer the same person stuck in the hands of manipulation.

The struggles with co-dependency, trauma bonds and insecure attachment - it’s been a rough road, and it’s not getting much easier as I grow into my own person. But I still believe that, through time, I’ll get out of this internal hellscape alive, and with my music, I’ll create even bigger milestones for myself.

Revisit 4U live, with the new Deep House Remix, alongside PETAL’s new Demon Mix. Now on You-Tube @ goneMUNE.

PETAL is a self-empowerment song in spite of self-sabotage. Writing this back in 2022, I experienced immense mood swings struggling with where I was in life. I was new to trauma recovery and healing - the ability to recover was something that could change me. But it was scary. I wanted to stay in my fear - I was pushing down all of my problems and not acknowledging them. However - deep down I knew it was time for me to do so because it was affecting many of my relationships. I had to battle this strong form of self sabotage.

“Not sweet nor loving, no place for me in this world”, the opening lines, really capture that space my 22 y/o self was in. I felt like I didn’t belong, and wasn’t all of the feminine traits my partners desired or wanted me to have. I struggled with my identity - who was I, really? I couldn’t tell what was my trauma and what was my personality.

“Can’t control the end, but I can control the past.” This line in the chorus means that I can shape how I view myself or my trauma - and that itself is empowering - it goes for anyone too.

Check out the new remix I did of PETAL - titled the Demon Mix, on my newest live performance video up on You-Tube @ goneMUNE , alongside another new Deep House remix of 4U - a song about fear of commitment and desperation of escaping a toxic dynamic.
