Nana’s budget advice for the kids 💸 If you don’t need it and weren’t planning to buy it anyway, a “special offer” isn’t saving you money. It’s just spending with extra steps. Case in point: the very nice person from @kinross_nz rang me about a wine special they are running. And what did Nana do? Ordered a case of Fumé Blanc and Pinot Gris. Immediately. 🤦🏻‍♀️🥂 Don’t @ me, it was a deal. #nanalogic #NanaNotes

Taste High Garden at Kinross, Gibbston. The tasting room looks out towards the vines and mountains that shape this part of Central Otago. Kinross brings High Garden together with wines from Valli, Hawkshead, Wild Irishman and Kinross, with Wine Advisors guiding visitors through the people and places behind the wines. When booking, ask which High Garden wines and vintages are being poured. 2300 Gibbston Highway, Queenstown. Bookings: kinross.nz/pages/wine-tasting-experiences Photograph: @kinross_nz.

Gave the Earnslaw Burn a crack in early winter after a @boxcrib work trip to Central Otago. Technical little number, absolutely froze my arse off but I managed to get the full experience, clear weather, nobody on the track, Kea wake up call. The @macpac lightweight chair was well worth the effort of hauling it in and out 27km. Managed to make some room for a nice Pinot from @kinross_nz 👌

Top 100 Sommeliers. It’s been such a privilege to be part of this fantastic initiative recognising and awarding the Top 100 Industry professionals in Aotearoa NZ. After the excitement of the Awards night, it’s been pretty special to visit some of our awardees in their places of work around the country and hand them their pins and certificates in person. Even managed to hand out a couple of 2025 awards that the recipients hadn’t managed to collect. Congratulations & cheers to: 🍷 Erick & Benjamin at Roki (our only 2 Michelin ⭐️ ⭐️ Restaurant) 🍷Caterina at The Lodge Queenstown (my own Somm 😎) 🍷Luca at Aosta 🍷Giulio at Toast & Oak 🍷My dear friend Stephen for the Inspiration Award 🍷Robbie at Gibbston Valley Winery 🍷Martial at Kinross 🍷Caitlin who was at Amisfield for last year’s Awards 🍷Ismo at Apero - who is too busy being a legend on the floor to attend in person. Already excited for next year’s nominees. What a strong and vibrant Sommelier community we have. #top100sommeliersnz #sommlife #camerondouglasms #top100sommeliers
