EPICURES BY CAIL BRUICH TO OPEN NEXT WEEK ... Hyndland hotspot Epicures is joining forces with Michelin-recognised Glasgow restaurant Cail Bruich. The two West End institutions are coming together to launch Epicures by Cail Bruich, which will open later this month on Hyndland Road. An initial offering will focus on brunch and a dedicated bakery – inspired by the CB Bakery which launched at the height of lockdown – with artisan cakes, pastries and breads to sit in or takeaway. Oli Norman, owner of Epicures said: “I’ve long been a huge fan of Cail Bruich and the exceptional quality of food, drink and service and am really excited about Chris and his team taking over the operation at Epicures. “Throughout lockdown visits to the CB Bakery were a highlight so to bring the offering to Epicures is a real joy, along with taking the food offering to a whole new level... “ SEE OUR WEBSITE FOR FULL STORY, LINK IN PROFILE #glasgow #glasgowwestend #supportsmallbusiness #newventure #scotland #foodanddrinks

SERIOUS EYE CONDITIONS GO UNDETECTED DURING LOCKDOWN | Glasgow optometrist Morven Campbell is expecting to see an increase in urgent eye conditions when doors reopen next week. Her Broomhill practice Iris Blue Optical will reopen for pre-booked appointments from this Wednesday. She has provided an emergency service during lockdown, using telephone and video calls with patients. But Morven says many people will have overlooked their eye health during the crisis. She said: “A lot of eye problems don’t come with pain, they come with vision changes. We are expecting to see a lot of people with macular degeneration, and changes in their diabetic status in their eyes. There are lots of people who won’t have felt that the issues that they have are emergencies. I think these are the people that are going to come in with changes with their vision and all sorts of other things.” You can found out more about Iris Blue Optical here 👉👉👉 https://irisblueoptical.com/irewards. I am dedicating this (my 999th) post to thanks for getting me past a thousand with the #artistsupportpledge Huge thanks for looking at what I post each day, to all who follow me and especially to those lovely people who have bought one, two or three or more of my original oil over instantfilm #hiddenlanecolours paintings - including but not only these - in the past few months of the @artistsupportpledge. I have delightedly sent out over half of the series, as far and wide as #London, #Prague and #Finland and delivered them by hand just up the hill here in #Glasgow. They have found homes with new collectors and existing ones, old colleagues, friends dating way back and brand new too. It has kept me going on tough days and given me not just some income to offset that lost through not being able to sell at @swg3glasgow #artcarbootglasgow or @glasgow_contemporary_art_fair but also confidence that art is one of the things I can bring that is positive to this oft disconcerting world. These bright #rectangles of abstract paint - and hearts & tea & #coffee cups too - will I trust bring joy and maybe new ideas when glimpsed out of the corner of an eye for years and years to come. That is what I think art can do. Creativity is not inconsequential. Feeling #thankful and for now that is enough. #paintingnow#abstraktekunst #abstractcolour #contemporaryart #geaturalabstraction #colourandlight #artcollectors #womensart #instaxart #blues #inconsequential #green #creativecolour #recycle #nonobjectiveart #red #pink #orange #purple #colourfulinteriors
