Day 7: G is for...>>glitch<<. When I released my chapbook earlier this year, I did so purely as a passion project. This was a collection of mainly micro poems - what I deemed to be my misfits, rogues, and renegades.

Sometimes the wonderfully unexpected happens. I'm delighted >>glitch<< has been awarded Distinguished Favorite in the NYC Big Book Award 2026 for Poetry - Contemporary Life & Non-Traditional Forms.

Here's to my fellow rebels out there 😀🙌💜

Preorders have opened for my third chapbook, THINGS I CAN ONLY SAY IN POEMS ABOUT/TO AN UNSPECIFIED ‘YOU’ (a winner of the 2026 @gardenpartycollective Chapbook Contest)!

Comprising free verse, prose forms, experimental forms, and black and white photography, this is one for the lovers, yearners, and those who hold dear the remarkability of the mundane.

The link to purchase can be found in my bio, under my LinkTree. I’ve also included the link to the full 2026 bundle.

Huge thanks to:

- Christopher Morgan (@andlohespoke) and arushi (aera) rege (@aera_.writes) for believing in my work and bringing to life my first hybrid chapbook;
- Christina Ortiz (@crtvmuseart) for the absolutely gorgeous cover; and
- wim blair (@kithbooks) and Frances Klein (@fklein907) for the very kind blurbs

Well blow me down - my little chapbook >>glitch<< has progressed in the queue and has made it into the Top 10 shortlist for the International Poetry Book Awards (UK)!

In pondering this year's "extraordinary multiplicity of subjects", judge Dave Lewis observed: "There was so much misery, but also so much joy, and so much freshness". >>glitch<< contains smatterings of all those things and then some 🎭

“Great poetry takes risks, tells truths, and finds new ways to speak to the world,” said Dave Lewis, judge for the 2026 International Poetry Book Awards (UK). I am incredibly honoured that my chapbook >>glitch<< has been longlisted in what has been their "most successful [year] yet, both in the number of entries and the extraordinary multiplicity of subjects". I'm willing to wager that >>glitch<< skewed the bell curve in terms of subject matter 😅

If you're interested in hearing some of my poetry, come along to Sappho Poetry Night @sapphobooks this Wednesday. I'm the feature poet alongside David Brooks, and I'll be sharing poems from all three of my books. There's also an open mic; I'd love to hear your poetry too!

I love when people send me pics of their babies wearing hats that I have made, but let me tell you, people sending me pics holding my book is pretty incredible! Do you have your copy yet? Link in bio to order hardcopies and digital copies from @kithbooks

Signing books! It is a skill to be able to maintain conversation while signing a book, be patient with authors while they do this, genuinely felt like I'd forgotten my own name at points. Every time I sign a book for someone, I'm so delighted that people want to read my poems and have my signature alongside the work. I don't think I'll ever stop feeling lucky and honoured 🎬

Meet the books we'll be celebrating at Hot, Fresh, Crip Summer this Thursday!

Beautiful essays and poetry abound, our readers weave words together to bring perspective and emotion to the realities of disability, illness, and ableism.

We'll be celebrating Jelly, Baby: Essays on Disability and Vulnerability by Therese Estacion, alongside Multimorbid, a collection of poetry, by Rebecca Wood. K Zimmer will also be joining us, reading their essay from our recent zine, "Nano"

We're so excited for you to witness these talents. Link to sign up in our bio. Both books featured are available for purchase through Sick Stories.

Image descriptions in alt text. Please let us know if you need them in another format. Text reads "MEET THE BOOKS, Thursday July 16th 7-8pm Eastern, Virtual" with "Hot Fresh Crip Summer" in bold words on different colours backgrounds. The background of the graphic is duckweed floating on water.

The Death of the Cult Classic book launch! It was such a fantastic evening, I felt so loved and held by the audience, truly wonderful to be able to share my work with friends from so many areas of my life. Thank you to @anynamebutbecky and @kukadoodles for performing, and to @sevendialsplayhouse for use of their space. I feel so incredibly lucky!

There are still copies of my pamphlet available from @kithbooks (link in bio).
