Margaret River Region Open Studios ✨ Our social media posts have been few and far between these last few weeks. As Kieran likes to remind me, “no-one is waiting for your social post” - ouch. With that in mind, we went gallivanting to lots of @margaretriverregionopenstudios this week instead. Oh the joy!

Here are some favourites so far:

@martineperret

Still another week to go! Where else do we need to go? P.s Surely ceramics are a business expense, no?

A full day of poetry performances with @wapoets and then onto @kj.stone_ studio. She made my new mug (if my kids didn’t keep breaking my beloved ceramic mugs I’d have a really epic collection at this point). And her new poetry book. I love creatives & people who can see a micro moment and turn it into art 😍😍✨

A large part of my pilgrimage to the south of France is the weaving of divine union, within and without.

On our Beltane Wedding Clay and I stood within a large Vesica Piscis and spoke our vows to each other, ourselves and for the community. Creating the River Temple is an extension of these vows and what we are here to anchor ⚓️ on earth in the physical.

As I journey through the sacred sites and lands of the Pyrenees I will be carrying this energy with me and will also bring it home. Weaving the threads of divine blessings….🤍🤍🤍 Love is always the answer

Come wassail our trees for Beltane! We probably should have done this in July and some of the trees are already awake but none the less, it’s a bit of fun. Like many ancient traditions, wassailing recognizes the important, symbiotic relationship of humankind to nature. As a tree blessing, this tradition allows us, as humans, to express our appreciation for the fruits of the harvest and also our role in the physical and spiritual care of our trees.Using our cider made from the apples last year, we sang, we soaked bread, we poured cider at the root and made our appreciation known. We then came home to eat together around the fire and enjoy some cider, with homemade lemon and lavender cordial and rosemary. For Beltane (we celebrate both Beltane and Samhain -or Halloween- one for the ancestors and history, one for animist seasonal relativity) we stoked our fire, said our blessings and made flower crowns together, planted our sunflowers the boys grew on the windowsill, blending traditions here a little but hey! It’s all about appreciating where we are. Showing our land some love and making sure we honor our roots and learn more every year about our heritage and traditions that we can try to revitalise. Tell us your traditions! We would love to know more

Follow along for more fun on the farm, recipes and dodgy history

Sadly our cider isn’t available to purchase (we don’t make enough cider for that yet) but if you’d like any wines crafted locally from our grapes to make your moments a little more magical check out our link in the bio
