Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance studio in Cuyahoga Falls is a premier institution dedicated to providing high-quality, pre-professional ballet and dance training. Founded in 1953 by Nan Klinger, the studio has built a decades-long reputation for technical excellence, following a curriculum that balances discipline with a nurturing, supportive environment. The studio serves as the official training ground for Ballet Excel Ohio, the oldest pre-professional youth ballet company in the United States, giving students the unique opportunity to perform in professional-level productions and work with renowned guest choreographers. Ballet Excel Ohio celebrated their 50th year this year, and the longest running performance at the Akron Civic Theatre with their 2026 performance of Aladdin.

By emphasizing strong foundational techniques and artistic expression, the studio continues Nan Klinger's legacy of fostering a deep love for dance while preparing students for professional careers in the arts.

Thank you for your support! 🩰🫶🏻

For Vera’s birthday, she had one big wish — to see The Nutcracker live and to someday have autographed pointe shoes hanging on her wall. 🩰✨

This past summer, she began ballet and quickly found something truly special. What started as a class became a passion, a joy, and something she pours her whole heart into 🤍

So much of that love comes from her teacher, Mia Klinger, and our studio,Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance. Mia is the perfect balance of strict and kind — always attentive, always correcting, always pushing her dancers to be their best, while making them feel seen and supported. Vera absolutely adores her, and we are so grateful for the foundation she is building ✨

At the studio, autographed pointe shoes hang on the wall — and Vera has dreamed of starting her own collection one day 🩰 So I reached out to the Cleveland Ballet, hoping to make that dream come true.

What happened next was pure magic ✨Sydney Henson, who danced the Sugar Plum Fairy, gifted Vera an autographed pair of pointe shoes along with the most thoughtful handwritten note 🤍 She even got to meet the performers from the show — a moment she will never forget.

A birthday filled with inspiration, kindness, and a little dancer’s dream coming true ✨🩰

Forever thankful for the teachers and artists who ignite these passions and help our children dream big 🤍

I am ELATED to share that I’m officially a member of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater! AHHHHHHH!!!!! Long post ahead…

This means so much to me. I have been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl. During my summers at @chqschools, I’d stand at the barre under @jagreen711’s picture/bio, hoping to one day grow up and accomplish such great achievements. I’m proud of myself for always finding the strength and COURAGE to get up and try again (in all aspects of my life). Little Kali would think I’m the coolest🥺

Thank you, God and thank you universe for keeping me on the correct path, whether I knew it or not. Thank you to my friends and family who have been there, believing in me and supporting my dreams. Thank you to all of my teachers and mentors who have helped me connect to my mind, body, and spirit. To the people and institutions who took a chance on me, even when I couldn’t see my own beauty. Most importantly, thank you to my first ever dance teacher and BIGGEST supporter, my mommy. I couldn’t have done any of this without her.

I’m extremely grateful and BEYOND excited to continue this journey with such an awe inspiring company! I’m excited to rededicate my life to me and everything this work asks of me. I’m excited to learn, grow, give, and receive. Here’s to a new beginning; SEASON ONE BABY!!!

Thank you @sab_nyc for an incredible week. The level of detail provided was admirable. A clear communication of leadership, a specific guideline of expectations, and an open ear for feedback. I left humble and eager to spread this knowledge to my dancers. Heart is full! 💙

Last week we were joined by this year's National Visiting Fellows cohort - (pictured left to right) Michael Crawford, Donna Jacobs, Mia Klinger, Rachel Seeholzer, and Mauro Villanueva. For their first week in residency, they met with our artistic leadership and faculty, observed classes, and began curriculum training sessions with Katrina Killian.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can't wait to have them visit again next spring, but in the meantime, we'll be sharing spotlights for each Fellow in the months to come, so stay tuned! ;)
