🍂 DOUBLE THE INSPIRATION on the My Sweet Petunia blog today! 🎃

Two talented designers. Two beautiful autumn projects. And plenty of creative ideas to try!

We’re treating you to an extra helping of fall inspiration with Anna Wight and Kassi Hulet!

🍁 Anna Wight is capturing the peaceful beauty of autumn with a gorgeous watercolor barn scene. Using her Mini MISTI, Anna creates beautifully detailed stamped impressions on textured watercolor paper before adding rich fall colors, distressed edges, and a little metallic shimmer.

🎃 Kassi Hulet is getting wonderfully creative with something you might normally toss in the recycling bin…BUBBLE WRAP!

That’s right! Kassi uses bubble wrap and Lindy’s Magicals to create a beautiful background for her watercolor pumpkins. Her MISTI Lite, Petunia Platform, and Power Mag help make stamping and painting easier so she can focus on all those gorgeous details.

We love seeing how our Design Team members use their My Sweet Petunia tools in different ways to bring their creative ideas to life!

💗 Two projects, two creative approaches, and twice the inspiration!

Visit the My Sweet Petunia blog to see both projects and discover all the creative details!

There is something so soothing about watching a blank stamped outline transform into a watercolor masterpiece! 🖌️❤️

In this Reel, @klynneart demonstrates how watercoloring the Framed in Flowers: Christmas design brings out all the subtle textures and rich tones of the holiday season. By building up multiple layers of green for the foliage and adding highlights to the berries, she creates a vintage-inspired focal point that feels like a piece of custom artwork!

Make sure you watch through to the end to see the final reveal, where she frames the hand-painted piece with a crisp layout, festive red backing, and elegant ribbon!

Drop a 🎨 in the comments if you love adding hand-painted watercolor details to your cards! 💬👇

🌼 Can’t grow the garden? Paint one! 🎨

For today’s Team Tuesday, Design Team member Kassi Hulet is turning treasured memories of gardening with her mom and grandmother into a beautiful watercolor floral card.

Kassi started by securing her watercolor paper to the Petunia Platform and using her MISTI Lite to stamp the floral image in fade-out ink. Keeping her paper in place gave her an easy workspace to move right into her favorite part—painting! And when the watercoloring was finished, the MISTI Lite came back out to perfectly place her sentiment.

We especially love Kassi’s tip for those sometimes-tricky yellow flowers: she brought peach into the shadows to create depth while keeping the yellows warm and vibrant. 💛🌼

With the MISTI Lite, Petunia Platform, and Power Mag helping streamline the process, Kassi could spend more time enjoying the part she loves most—creating that beautiful painted garden.

Visit the My Sweet Petunia blog to see Kassi’s full project and all the details!

I know that a lot of people have already made a great start on their holiday cards. I used the Holly and starts from stamp set TE63 “A Promise of Tomorrow” to make this card. The sentiment is from TE22 “Christmas Wishes”. The background was inspired by a recent post by Kassi Hulet (@klynneart on Instagram). She made a floral card with watercolor stripes in the background and I loved the effect. I positioned my stripes a little differently but I was absolutely inspired by her make. I fussy cut the Holly Branches but with Tracy’s new die set DI11, you can easily die cut the Holly. I stamped the stars with embossing ink and embossed them in gold. I added glossy accents to the Holly berries to give them a little shine. I placed my top panel on a gold mirror mat layer and then added those to a deep green card
Base. I edged my sentiment strip with gold to toe in with the gold in the panel and mat layer. I love how this card turned out. The stamp sets are available on Tracy’s website: www.tracyevansboutiquedesigns.com

ICYMI ON OUR BLOG YESTERDAY

✨ SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨

Watercolor + salt = a little bit of crafty magic! 🎨🧂

Design Team member Kassi Hulet is on the blog with a special Saturday tutorial showing you how to create a gorgeous watercolor background that looks complicated—but is actually surprisingly easy!

Kassi starts her watercolor paper on the Petunia Platform, adds a wash of color, and then lets ordinary salt work its magic to create that beautiful, unpredictable texture. Once it’s completely dry, she stamps and paints her florals right over the background before finishing everything off with a sentiment using the MISTI Lite.

And that’s part of the fun of this technique: every background is completely unique! 💜

👉 Head over to the My Sweet Petunia blog for Kassi’s full step-by-step tutorial.

Would you try the salt watercolor technique?

🌹 A beautiful card can begin with nothing more than a little time to play with color.

For today’s Team Tuesday, Design Team member Kassi Hulet transforms one of her handmade watercolor backgrounds into an elegant rose card inspired by summertime memories of her grandmother’s garden.

The Petunia Platform provides a secure surface for creating watercolor backgrounds, while the Original MISTI makes it easy to gradually build the delicate no-line rose image. Kassi then uses the MISTI Lite to add a perfectly placed sentiment, bringing the entire design together with confidence and precision.

Visit the My Sweet Petunia blog to see Kassi’s full process and beautiful granulating watercolor palette. Then gather a few crafty friends, tape some watercolor paper to your Platforms, and spend an afternoon creating backgrounds to save, share, and turn into future cards!

Sometimes the best creative moments happen when things don’t go according to plan. 💜🎨

For this week’s Team Tuesday, Design Team member Kassi Hulet is embracing the beauty of happy accidents! What began as one watercolor idea quickly evolved into something completely different—and the results are absolutely gorgeous.

In her latest tutorial, Kassi shares how she uses the Petunia Platform to keep her watercolor paper securely taped in place while painting, the Original MISTI for crisp no-line stamping with larger images, and the MISTI Lite to perfectly position her sentiment at the end of the project. She also shares a clever tip for testing sentiment placement with acetate before stamping directly onto your card!

If you’ve ever been tempted to give up on a project because it wasn’t going as planned, this tutorial is your reminder to keep creating—you never know where your creativity will take you.

Watch as this sweet summer treat comes to life piece by piece! ✂️🎨✨ We are so inspired by designer Kassi’s nostalgic Sweet Americana Die Set project, which captures all the delightful, sun-drenched joy of a classic summer picnic.

In this close-up, you’ll see highlights of the creative process—from the crisp layout as each beautiful cardstock layer is added to the intricately texturized waffle cone and perfectly scooped vanilla ice cream. By pairing the hand-painted depth of watercolor washes with a glossy chocolate drizzle and bright sprinkles, @klynneart creates a professional, whimsical finish that makes the entire treat truly “pop” off the page! It’s the ultimate calorie-free way to dress up summer birthday cards, backyard party invitations, or patriotic July 4th greetings. 🍉☀️🍰

Are you sticking to classic ice cream tones or mixing up a bright, custom flavor? 🍧👇

We’re so excited to share this gorgeous watercolor project from our Design Team member, Kassi Hulet 💜✨

Kassi’s beautiful floral card is filled with soft “cotton candy” colors, loose watercoloring, and perfectly stamped details that make this design feel both artistic and polished. Using the Petunia Platform, MISTI Lite, and Power Mag, she kept everything perfectly secure while painting, stamping, and aligning her sentiment with ease.

One of our favorite tips from this project? Keeping watercolor paper taped to the Platform from start to finish helps reduce warping and keeps your project stable while you work!

✨ Quick tip: Use the etched alignment lines on the MISTI Lite together with the Petunia Platform for perfectly straight sentiments every time.

Tap the link in our bio to see Kassi’s full process and get inspired to create with color! 💛
