@kmichol might just be the best @5peaksrun ambassador there is! One innocent 5 km run together and I’m registered for my first ever trail race!… 19.3km trail race 😳

At first, I was pretty nervous, and then I was back-and-forth about whether I would race it or just run it… and now I’m nothing but straight up excited to see what happens when I get out there this Saturday!

PLEASEEEEE give me all the advice and good vibes in the comments !!!!

10 years in the making.

The trip to the Banff Jasper Relay was about a lot more than the actual relay, It was selfishly about bringing together subjectively fun people from different parts of my running circle and sharing a place that played a huge role in my own running journey. The Stray Cats were born.

Watching these friends discover Jasper and Banff National Parks (some for the first time), while doing the thing that brought us all together in the first place, was pretty darn cool. Grinding out the overall win had also (not so) secretly been part of the dream trip, and we somehow managed to pull it off!

This reel is just a small clip of the moments…small snippets of a purely magical 48 hours in the Rockies. Huge thanks to everyone who said yes to the adventure, an extra shoutout to Scott for somehow managing the Stray Cats at his house all weekend, and to Shawn & Mikey for helping me pull it all together.

Already thinking about the next one…Hood to Coast?

The Stray Cats purred up the parkway last weekend, probably even winning the whole thing (I guess we’ll never know). Thanks for letting me tag along and get a nice little jog in the mountains in. Defend the title (if there is one to defend)?

Banff to Jasper Relay 2026 🐈‍⬛🏔️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

The Stray Cats, a motley, dreamy crew took on the challenge of running through Canada’s two most iconic national parks. Epic scenery. Shenanigans. Teamwork.

Couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the weekend than to run with this crew.

Here’s your sign to finally get the thing out of the group chat! Cheers to Ryan, Mikey, and Shawn for making it happen and to the rest of the gang for being so rad 🤩

Absolute fever dream of a weekend. Couldn’t imagine a better crew to run a 260km relay from Banff to Jasper with. Heart is full. Lungs are depleted. Never want to see a Ninja Poison again. 🫶🏻

Remember Jody? I met her last September at the final race of the season (Weaselhead)

She was running 5 Peaks and then heading to the hospital for cancer treatments.

Jody is back in 2026….bib 1263❤️ I asked her if she could speak to the runners before we kicked off the 2026 trail season. She gave an inspirational speech to inspire the runners as they embark on another journey!

Huge kudos to all the runners who SOLD OUT both race in Calgary and Edmonton❤️

Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, Canadian Ski Patrol who make it a fun and safe course🙏🏃‍♀️

It’s time to lace up the fancy shoes and fill those vests. YYCRunCrew is hitting the trails! 🌲

Join us on the last Thursday of every month this summer as we take on some of our favourite inner-city routes. Expect punchy climbs, winding singletrack, and that perfect amount of dusty goodness.

PLEASE NOTE:
🤝 This is a social, party paced group run. We stop lots. We look at nature. We wait for each other. Save your tough speed workout for another day 🙂
🚏 Routes will be announced a couple weeks prior to the run via our Strava club. We will meet at 6PM.
🌧️To protect the Calgary trail network, these runs will be cancelled during rainy conditions.
‼️ Runners are required to wear proper trail shoes/gear, and bring your own hydration/fuel if needed.

We hope to see you out there, trail crew 👊🏻.
