Atanas Bozdarov is an artist and designer whose work incorporates sculpture, photography, and graphic design to explore systems of access, intersections of disability and design, and architectural propositions for public space.

Geoffrey Lok-Fay Cheung (he/him) is an artist examining the way bodies hold and transform memories, from its compaction against familial narrative legacies, to its dilation through ritual and ceremony.

Kosar Movahedi is a mixed-media artist whose work uses humour and play to complicate our perception of space, surface and the indexical notion of photography.

Please join us for the Rockslide open studio & holiday market this Saturday 🐥🐥🐥

@n.literaryart , @maryamtvk and myself are using my studio on the 1st floor to showcase some of our work in progress and offer some prints and postcards for sale.

✨✨780 Blanshard St, 1st floor (across from @thevault_gallery)✨✨
✨✨Dec 14, Saturday, 4-8 pm✨✨

I will unfortunately not be there in-person, but have installed pieces from my most recent project that I’ve been developing during a residency in Lisbon, which includes photographing ornamental objects and using them as inspiration to create drawings with calligraphic gestures. These drawings borrow from Persian/Arabic calligraphy forms, but do not represent pre-existing characters or words. I think of them as an alphabet with infinite letters.

And if all that’s not enough, there’ll be more than 80 artists and vendors in the building for you to visit!

On view in the Project Gallery is Kosar Movahedi’s "Folly" 📸⬜️💡

In this project, Movahedi approached the exhibition space as a ground for improvisation. She sourced photographs from the Project Gallery space, and through collage played with themes from her artistic practice that consider frames, surfaces, and the expectations we have of photography as a medium. The resulting work hopes to share her process of rethinking and reconfiguring the space with the audience.

Spend some time with "Folly". On view in the Project Galley now until June 22.

An Opening Reception you won’t want to miss!

📅 Date: Thursday, May 16
🕕 Time: 6:00 pm
📍 Venue: PoMoArts

“Even if I Wasn’t Here”, by urban oil painter Leanne M Christie (@leannemchristie), explores the relationship between our memories and our environment, challenging us to consider our own experiences and how they shape our understanding of the world around us.

In “Connecting With our Culture Through the Places We Sit” Pat Calihou, a Métis woodcarver and artisan, uses his places to sit to create opportunities for a new generation to connect with Métis culture.

Kosar Movahedi (@kmovii) is playing with the boundary between exhibition spaces and image-based work in “Fall Flat”, bringing to our attention ignored or unseen elements of the buildings where we view art.

“True Colours” is an exhibition celebrating youth artists who identify as queer, questioning or allies of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
