Day 2 of the Stitching in Scotland & Shetland with Rachel tour was a blast!!!

Not only did we get stunning views of the Scottish countryside, but we also lived a dream come true by getting to learn from THE Di Gilpin and THE Sheila Greenwell (knitting consultants on the best Netflix Christmas movie: Castle for Christmas)!!! Oh yeah and judges on Channel 4’s @thegameofwool (NO BIG DEAL)!

It was fabulous to learn from these ladies and pepper them with questions. Their encyclopedic knowledge of gansey knitting is really something to behold; I’m so grateful to them for sharing some of what we know with us!

This was also the first day we bought our weight in yarn. I got my second purple sweater quantity of the trip! 💃

And of course we can’t forget our time at @bowbridgealpacasscotland. This is my second time visiting, and it won’t be the last. Thank you so much for having us and introducing my group to your furry family. I was even spat on (by an alpaca; don’t make it weird)!

What a wonderful group of ladies on the trip. So many fabulous memories! Thank you @kendallrock for capturing them so well 🫶🏻

Day 1 of the Stitching in Scotland & Shetland with Rachel tour was AMAZING!!!

We started the day with an introduction from myself and our wonderful guide Kirsty before piling onto the bus and heading to the Scottish Textile Showcase (@scottishtextilesshowcase). It was so wonderful to hear from Kitty and Susan all about the sustainable practices that they run their businesses by, ensuring that their wares are ethically sourced and produced in Scotland. Just incredible!

Next, we made our way to Dundee, where we had a lovely welcome dinner and continued to get to know one another more. This group is just spectacular (as is always the case… but you know how my anxiety speaks to me sometimes)! I am always blown away by the people who sign up for these tours. You are all so amazing, kind, and FUN! I am having such a good time, and we are just getting started.

A weekend I’ll never forget 🐑✨💜

Seattle, what a treat! This was my first ever yarn festival, and it did not disappoint! I really loved my experience at Flock. I came home with new treasures, a lighter wallet, new friends, and a heart full of memories! Now I simply must NAP or else I shall never recover from this amazing weekend.
