Our leaders, advisors, and jurors, many of whom sacrifice hours for our arts sector without expecting recognition, are the magic behind our grantmaking. Meet our Artist Advisory Committee, whose perspectives advise ARTSmemphis staff and board in review and refinement of programs supporting individual artists, namely our ARTSassist grant, in alignment with ARTSmemphis’ mission and strategic goals. Their advocacy for ARTSmemphis and role as liasons between our organization and local artists is

Our ARTSassist grant is the only unrestricted grant program for individual artists in Shelby County. Applications are now open until October 4 for visual art, dance and film (directors) through ARTSmemphis' website. Musician support is provided through our grantee partner Music Export Memphis.

Still unpacking my week in NYC.
Grateful for the @urbanartmemphis fellowship, the chance to get to know my cohort better, and a few extra days with @kongweepang. Made a little pilgrimage to the Brooklyn Banks, caught up with old friends, made a few new ones, and saw a lot of public art.

I’m honored to be part of ‘Memphis College of Art, 1936–2020: An Enduring Legacy’ at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art (@brooksmuseum )🙌 curated by Marina Pacini. On view through Sept 27, 2026.

My work in the exhibition is documentation of American Recordings, Act I: American Harvest, a project I made at @thekitchen_nyc in 2021, curated by @a.burstein 🫶

This monumental exhibition brings together 90 artists who were either students or faculty of MCA, which unfortunately closed in 2020 🥺 It highlights MCA’s impact on the city of Memphis and beyond, and also marks the final exhibition at Brooks Museum’s current location before it relocates downtown later this year as Memphis Art Museum (designed by Herzog & de Meuron @herzogdemeuron + @archimania 🔥)

The opening of this show was so special. I got to reunite with so many friends and professors.…with people who were part of your formative years, even after years apart it still feels like family❤️❤️❤️ You can pick up right where you left off.

MCA forever.

Amazing exhibition reception honoring Memphis College of Art – my first full-time teaching position. What a glorious, wonderful and special place it was with the most amazing faculty, staff and students. Such a fantastic night celebrating such happy years and seeing so many friends and former students I haven’t seen in so long!
Hosted by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.
