Instead of constantly saying “No” or “Don’t do that,” try redirecting your child’s attention to something they can do. 🤍

Young children are still learning to understand instructions, manage impulses, and control their behavior.

Sometimes, simply telling them to stop isn’t enough. Giving them an alternative helps them understand what they can do instead.

Redirecting isn’t about ignoring boundaries. It’s about teaching children what to do rather than only telling them what not to do.

💬 What’s your child’s favorite toy or activity that helps redirect their attention?

As an enthusiastic auntie always on the lookout for diverse, high-quality products for my little family members, finding @ricebari_official Asian Baby Food Pouches has been an absolute dream!

The 4-flavor variety pack is incredibly convenient for grab-and-go days in the stroller. I love that they use clean, real ingredients, have zero added sugar, and are third-party tested for heavy metals and toxins.

Most importantly, it introduces authentic Asian recipes early on. Highly recommend to any caregiver looking for nutritious, easy, and culturally diverse baby food options!

Older children’s movies and cartoons, such as Winnie the Pooh and Little Bear, as well as Disney movies released before the 2000s, had a slower pace and a distinctive charm that gave young viewers more time to process dialogue and follow a narrative. Modern programming, such as CoComelon, relies on rapid cuts and constant visual changes, which can affect young children who are still developing the ability to sustain attention and regulate impulses.

Follow for more early childhood speech and language content from our team of 85+ speech pathologists here at Pop 💬 that ‘software update’ moment? It’s actually one of the most exciting signs in early language development and it tells us exactly what to try next. Watch till the end for Pop speechie Lili to give actionable tips you can try at home!

Word imitation is a huge milestone (and the cutest software update 😆) and here’s what it’s telling you:

✨ She knows it’s her turn to talk so that social awareness is developing
✨ She’s processing new vocabulary and starting to make language connections
✨ She might be getting close to using words all on her own

And the one technique to try at home? Pause mid-phrase and wait. “Ready, steady…” 👀 Give it a full 7–10 seconds for that next step processing.

This is exactly the kind of insight our team of 85+ speech pathologists at Pop can help you act on. We support families to understand where their little one is at, what to try at home, and how to bridge the gap between imitation and independent word use.

I love this video 🩷

Redirection is a great tool for guiding our child’s attention away from something we don’t want our kids to be doing (in this video, it’s the child being in the fridge), and redirection also allows opportunity for a child to learn the skills and rules for what TO DO (instead of just saying no and leaving a child confused).

If we just say “no” all day we’re going to see more escalated behaviour and a child that doesn’t know what the alternative behaviour is which sets them up to fail.

Before you come for me, I completely understand that this isn’t always achievable and that simply saying “no” is all you can do in some moments. That is totally fine and normal. This video simply gives you ideas for the moments you can implement redirection.

Sending lots of love,
Dr. McKenzie 💜

Önceliğimiz her zaman ekran süresini kısaltmak olmalı.

Get cleaner skin with Puresoft Filter 💦

Henry is a first-time dad who needed a water filter that was effective, sleek, and easy to install. He knew tap water carried chlorine, rust, dirt, and microplastics, which can be harsh on his baby’s sensitive skin. That’s when he found the Puresoft Filter, and it’s been a game changer for his family.

Why Henry chose the Puresoft Filter:
✅ Removes contaminants including chlorine, dirt, rust, microplastics, & more
💧 Prevents dry skin & irritation
🚿 Perfect for babies, sensitive skin & hair health
🦠 Reduces mold buildup in your faucet
🔧 Installs in minutes—no plumber needed!
🇰🇷 Made in Korea for top-quality filtration

His baby’s skin is softer after baths, and now he and his wife enjoy clean, filtered water everyday ✨💦
