The wheel turns yet again, and we’re soul grateful to Sam, @greeneggzn_sam, for stewarding this place from September to February.
She brought such care and joy, you couldn’t help but feel immediately welcomed when she was around. Staff would come for a night and end up staying for months. Guests turned to volunteers. And volunteers became family. 💖
We’ll think often of her impromptu star parties, playing DJ for Vital Glory, bringing the beloved punching bag into The Glass House, her love for fire tending and aerial silks, and for holding it down with such grounded presence.

We say farewell a lot around here. It never really gets easier.
There’s something endlessly tender about sending someone off — back across oceans, across states, across entire lives — not knowing if your paths will cross again.
The forest has a way of bringing together the most unexpected humans — and reminding us that even brief crossings can change us.

Sending off @kooldbh to Colombia, we are still missing you, our friend.

We say it all the time, but the magic of this place is the people who tend to the spirit and the land. This was our team right before the holidays at the end of December—an absolute dream to be apart of. ✨

🍃 We still have some time left in our winter work month. There are different projects to the land and the infrastructure to tend to. Come be a part of the history that keeps this place alive. Call us if interested!

Our piano has gone on to piano heaven.
Its time was up. Into the fire it went, honored for every note it carried, its final song played by our volunteer Lynn. When something no longer serves, we release it with gratitude (sometimes being a whole lot of fun).
A new chapter begins with a piano donated by @dustyjoylife, painted from Savannah, soon to live in our music room—The Library.

Goodbyes hit different here.
Jordan Mudd, our artist in residence, left last week—and the ripple is real.
Time doesn’t move linearly in this place; it lingers, loops, echoes. If you know, you know.
The current staff stand on the deck, the conch sounds three times, and we mark the crossing.
