On Sunday, July 19th, I was honored with the Women in NAACP Excellence in Leadership Award for my contributions to lunar science — and got to share the moment with my colleague and good friend Kiarre Dumes, who was also recognized with an award that day.

The ceremony was part of the NAACP’s 117th National Convention, and it made for one of the best weeks ever, where I connected with many community leaders, advocates, and changemakers.

I’m so grateful to the NAACP for this recognition. Words don’t quite capture how it feels to be seen like this. #NAACP #womeninstem
