What a rewarding evening at the Panerai Boutique in Hong Kong “The Depths Time Exhibition" On display were rare vintage military timepieces, historic diving instruments and original diving gear. We were privileged to hear from Mr. Fang, is a famous Macau Panerai collector, who shared his profound passion for the brand. Grateful to Panerai for this wonderful invitation. #panerai #paneristi #italianmilitarybrand #iconicwatch #californiadial

This time at China (Shenzhen) Watch Week, I had the chance to learn traditional hand engraving from @kory_kwok. What surprised me most was that engraving isn’t about hitting harder. It’s about using your fingers to control the hammer with precision, rhythm, and just the right amount of force to create incredibly fine details. Kory shared that this piece was designed with a more playful and creative approach, yet it still required around 300–400 hours to complete. When you realize every line is hand engraved, one strike at a time, you gain a whole new appreciation for the craftsmanship behind it. If you had 400 hours to create something, what would you make? Let me know in the comments. . . . #platowatch #handengraving #independentwatchmaking #watchmaking #chinawatchweek

This one-of-one @r.gauthier Logical One Secret Vallée de Joux was stolen from Romain Gauthier himself on a plane. 🤯 While traveling to Hong Kong on a Swiss International Airlines business class flight, the piece was taken straight from the overhead cabin with the suitcase locked (not exactly what you’d expect from a business class experience, @flyswiss). Within 24 hours it was already circulating among dealers in Mainland China, and 48 hours later it was in the US. We’re sharing this because it needs to be seen. If this watch surfaces anywhere, please keep an eye out and let Romain, his team, or us know. And a reminder for anyone traveling with valuable watches: keep them on your wrist or in sight at all times - the overhead cabin, even in business class, is clearly not safe. This is also exactly why provenance and theft checks matter. Every single watch you buy from Wristcheck gets cross checked through stolen watch databases - keeping both buyers and sellers safe is something we’ll always stand for. #wristcheck

It was a great honor to be invited by Francisco, the founder of @macau_watch_knowledge_center, along with GPHG Members @kory_kwok and @ricky_montres_collection , to visit the @behrensofficial headquarters. We had an inspiring and in-depth dialogue with the founder, Mr. Lin Bingqiang, learning how the brand seamlessly integrates futuristic tech aesthetics into traditional mechanical structures. Witnessing how BEHRENS has consistently been nominated for the GPHG (Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève) is a true testament to how they are elevating ”Made in China“ to a prestigious global stage. The world of horology is not just about the heritage of craftsmanship, but also the dynamic exchange of professional expertise and the passion of the new generation. Special thanks to the BEHRENS team for their warm hospitality! . . . #platowatch #behrens #gphg #macauwatch #independentwatchmaking

Thank you to Longines for hosting a wonderful Heritage Talk and dinner this week in Hong Kong. Always a pleasure listening to Daniel Hug, whose deep knowledge of the brand’s archives continues to bring Longines’ two centuries of history to life. Seeing and handling some of the museum pieces afterwards made the stories even more meaningful. Great to meet new friends and spend time with the Longines team. Cecilia — thank you for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. #longines #watchmaking #watchhistory #heritage #watchprofessor
