Friends don’t let friends knit alone. Not the two of us anyway!
This is Simple Something by @ankestrick It’s a perfect pattern for using up leftover fingering weight, particularly your variegateds. We both stash a lot of that. Our process was to choose a base color, in this case the grays, and change the shade of gray as knitting progressed. The strand of color was pretty much unplanned for both of us, while we each perhaps had things laid out ahead, the addition of colors pretty much happened by divine inspiration.
Like so many things we create as knitters, we were inspired by the handiwork of another. Our inspiration came from @kremenwait who introduced us to the pattern when she wore her own version to work @spunannarbor
The pattern not only creates an eye catching sweater, it’s well written, comprehensive and uses up a LOT of what you have laying around in your knitstash. Win. Win. Win.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Finished!! Kate has been embroidering on her Spun messenger bag at Monday night drop ins, and look what she brought in tonight! It’s done! It’s fabulous! & it’s so fun! Much celebrating! 🙌🏼

Almost finished embroidering this @dropcloth sampler 🤗

Last night during drop in at Spun, my lys (local yarn shop), I asked for stitch ideas for the hoop motif, and my friend @kremenwait suggested heavy chain stitch. At first I groaned, “mmm, I don’t really enjoy that stitch, but I think you’re right, it would look good.” And this morning, after I removed the first pass at the heavy chain 😏 I tried one more time and found a happy groove! Thank you, Kate! 💡
