Oprah says life begins at 44...and she has never failed me. ✨

I've walked a thousand steps in these boots, but I've also lived a thousand lives in them. My knees are weak, my legs are sore and my beard is getting greyer by the day. But I no longer hide the spots on my face or the wrinkles near my eyes, because they mark precious time spent under the Leo sun, filled with decades of joy and laughter. 👢☀️

At 44, this is what I know for sure: my heart is full and open. And my spirit is alive and well. 💜

As we approach my birthday month intermission, I'm reminded of how interesting this time of year is for people. Begging for an end to summer heat waves. Last road trips across the country or escapes around the globe. Back to school shopping and first day of school photos. More Zoom meetings on the cal and the "helmet on" mode for us politicos as Virgo takes over to settle us into sad girl autumn. 🍁🌄

When the New Moon in Leo arrived last week, I didn't do anything fancy. I sat in the quiet, thought about everything I have, everything I've done, and everything I get to do next. Then, this urban cowboy saddled up for one more birthday ride. 🌑🪩

It's gonna be hard to top this one. Baby's first Lollapalooza. Ariana Grande's eternal sunshine. Millennium on another planet. Hearing Kelly Clarkson sing "Breakaway" with a 16-member band alongside your oldest and dearest friends. And getting escorted to the front of the dancefloor to see DJ Tiesto play for the 20th time. 🎙️🤌🎧

Grateful for this wild ride, this freedom, and this life I've lived in technicolor. Thanks to everybody's who made it - and me - feel so special. 🎉🐎

I've said it once and I'll say it until my last breath: Book the trip. Buy the ticket. Spin the wheel. Say yes to life. 🎟️✈️

And finally, this: "Most of life is hell. It's filled with failure and loss. People disappoint you. Dreams don't work out. Hearts get broken. And the best moments of life, when everything comes together, are few and fleeting. But, you will never get to the next great moment if you don't keep going. So, that's what I do. I keep going." - Sigourney Weaver, Political Animals

Happy August from your neighborhood Leo. 🦁
