5FTF Recap:
From lab coats to mountain coats 🥼⛰ This summer in Utah was more than cancer research; it was sunrises over red rocks, hikes that stole my breath (in the best way), laughter echoing in canyons, and friendships forged stronger than granite. Grateful for the science that sharpened my mind and the people who warmed my heart. Here’s to research, adventure, and the memories that will last a lifetime. 💙✨

2024 JHUAN Scholar, Kristojay Clarke is fresh back from internship in Taipei, Taiwan where she focused on HIV research. Her work was centered on RNA modification and CRISPR methods.

"It was an incredibly hands-on experience. I got to duplicate every technique my mentor demonstrated and even worked on my own cells. The weekends were equally enriching, as a lab associate guided me around the city, allowing me to explore and enjoy the local culture. This internship has truly reignited my passion for biomedical research!"

St. Louis owes me nothing but I owe it everything. ASB is one of the greatest and most fulfilling things I’ve ever been a part of.

In support of the true nature of Carnival, the Howard University Caribbean Students’ Association formally introduces Mas Player #13, representing the Land of Outameni and Stew Peas, Ms. Kristojay Clarke 🇯🇲.

She is a Freshman Biology major, Chemistry minor from Manchester, Jamaica. 🤞🏽

She believes that she deserves to be your next Miss HUCSA because:

“I strongly believe the next Ms. HUCSA should be someone who exhibits humility, keeps true to herself, and wants to do everything in her power to meet the needs of her people. And this is what I believe I am. I am confident that I am the perfect representative for my fellow Caribbean people and will use this opportunity to carry out my initiative to improve the Caribbean community at Howard by putting a special emphasis on our mental health and homesickness. I will devote my entire self to Howard's Caribbean community, as a passionate, outspoken Jamaican girl who strives to not only strengthen HUCSA's agenda, but also to ensure that prospective Caribbean students are welcomed to a safe place and well-rounded Caribbean family.”

Her favorite song right now is Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny’s Child 😎

1 like is equal to one vote for Kristojay in the People’s Choice Award Category.
