RETREAT RECAP 🌾 They say Delphi is the ancient center of the world (the navel, or omphalos), but I’m convinced it may actually be somewhere between Mount Giona and Vardousia, at least that’s how it feels for me.

Our Reclaiming Our Roots retreat combined tactile craftsmanship with deep immersion in nature and culture. From our incredible weaving workshop and bread ritual in Athens to several days high in the mountains, this one really left me in my feels. Deepest gratitude to the women who joined us, including our ancestors whose presence was honored and felt throughout.

🏺From hiking an ancient spiritual path from Delphi through ancient olive groves, to learning how to tend to bees… from the dark depths of Pan’s cave to the sweetness of a shared altar… from imagining how many hands wove their futures from a young age, to singing the folk songs women sang to prepare for weddings (and holding space for the candid, less savory sides of that history)—this retreat covered a vast amount of ground while remaining deeply grounded. Rizes, indeed. Earth, you’re the best.

There is something profoundly moving about sharing the place where your roots lie. I finally got to share mine, and it won’t be the last time. Who’s in for next year?!

Finally, a huge thanks to @dorian_paths and @panos.parallevar for not only getting us around safely, but for providing the local intel that helped me put the perfect finishing touches on the first retreat I ever planned solo.

You’re invited: OUR 5th GREEK GRACE RETREAT IN THE CYCLADES 🌊 🧿 Registration is live to join @lulusoni and @kristinadelphi July 24–31, 2027 for a week of peak summer practice and joy.

We can’t wait to return to Amorgos (also Kristina’s summer home), where your days will include movement and breath practices, taking it “siga siga,” dreamy dips in the Aegean, local culture, and, as always, an incredible crew.

☀️This retreat is timed with Leo Season: the season of the heart, of expression, and feeling very alive. Expect joy, playfulness, and a deep nervous system reset.

Throughout our week together, we will weave daily movement practices with the land and pace of island life:
🏺Intentional movement: Daily yoga, Somatics, Katonah Yoga®, breathwork, Greek dance, all in open-air shalas overlooking the sea.
🏺Ancient paths: Walks through historic villages and along stone trails to a cliffside monastery hanging over the Aegean.
🏺Culture: Greek cuisine, exploring Aegean herbs, and local festivities and traditions.
🏺Shared meals: Long, unhurried meals of fresh Greek/Mediterranean food.
🏺The Big Blue: Amorgos feels raw and timeless. Swim in the waters that inspired the cult French film Le Grand Bleu.

Note for teachers: Lulu and Kristina are certified Katonah Yoga® teachers; all yoga practices are bankable towards your certification hours.

🐚EARLY BIRD PRICING IS LIVE 🐚This retreat sells out every year. Give yourself yourself something to look forward to and take $200 off: use code EARLYBIRD for (valid through October 15).

You know the deal! Link in bio for more details and inclusions, room options, and to reserve your spot.

NEW YIA MAS PODCAST WITH @nomikikonst 🧿

Whew, friends. We covered a lot of ground on this one! Nomiki Konst and I reconnected from our respective islands for a deep dive into everything from Greek geopolitics and Greek/Italian folk magic to her family’s roots in Epirus and its fascinating (and often tragic) history.

And yes... the island internet gave us a run for our money #greekinternet, so forgive a few dropped frames, awkward pauses, and lost moments along the way. Think of it as leaving a little to the imagination!

If you don’t already know Nomiki, she’s a brilliant investigative journalist, political strategist, and founder of both Kefi Strategies and Matriarch (an organization training working-class women to run for office). She was a national surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 and 2020 campaigns, served on the DNC Unity & Reform Commission, and has helped lead major grassroots victories nationwide. You might also recognize her as the co-host of Rising or from her commentary across CNN, MSNBC, and SiriusXM.

Grab a cafedaki (or aperitif) and give it a listen this weekend 🏺listen for free on Spotify or Apple Podcasts:)

YIA MAS! The podcast is LIVE 🧿⏺️🏺Welcome to our new space for longer-form conversations with our brilliant friends and collaborators, as well as solo episodes - more on that below.

She’s not perfect, and there’s no intro music yet. For now, we’re excited to simply release this into the world and fine tune as we go. You can listen to our first two episodes now on Spotify and YouTube, AD FREE and for free 🧿

A few things you can expect from these transmissions:
🧿 A combination of solo episodes and engaging guests
🧿 Diaspora Dialogues on a broad range of topics, even the difficult ones
🧿 Travel in Greece: insights, tips, and more
🧿 Rants and reflections on the state of the wellness industry, social media, AI, and, well, the world. Yes, things unrelated to Greece or Greek stuff!
🧿 Actual practical episodes on how to live better as inspired by Greece’s land, ancient wisdom, and folk practices (aka the entire ethos of Yia Mas since 2018).

We recorded an incredible episode on Greek Folk Magic in the digital age with our friend and guest teacher @nikokatos. Niko is an educator and cultural researcher who learned folk practices directly from his grandparents. He has also guest taught several amazing classes on the mati and folk magic for our online classes. This is a treat to listen to and a great way to kick off our guests.

LISTEN NOW FOR FREE! And please follow the show 🏺 I am notoriously bad at asking for support, so here we are. 💙

ON FILM ☀️🧿 FOR THE LOVE OF GREEK SUMMER. I have a confession: I intentionally try not to over post about Greek summer all year round. Firstly, our Yia Mas ethos is rooted in seasonal living and sharing the magic of Greece beyond its most Instagrammed season. Spring here takes my breath away.

That being said… there’s nothing like Greek summer, period. Here are some photos from a past retreat on Amorgos. I love how the film adds a tinge of nostalgia, NO FILTER. This island, which we now call our summer home, genuinely does feel suspended in time - a balm in an era when reality itself bends around us via technology.

While the islands around us feel increasingly overbuilt, I’m grateful for Amorgos unpretentiously being what it is. Perhaps I’m a glutton for nostalgia (history and art history major here), but we just can’t help it.

GREEK GRACE RECEIVED 🏺SOLSTICE RETREAT RECAP 🌞🧿 Our cups overfloweth from a retreat week spent immersed in movement, meditation, Greek dance, local culture, community, magical herbs and flower essences, pranayama, and the sea. Thank you as always to our incredible retreaters for your trust and energy.

°.🐚⋆❀˖°🫧This was our 4th retreat with the incomparable @lulusoni - a friend, teacher, and true embodied SOMATICAL guide on the path. This retreat has evolved into a summer ritual and I’m so grateful to co-create that container with Lulu. And so: keep an eye out for next summer’s edition, coming in hot during Leo season with a RIPE recipe for deep embodiment and receiving and joy. 🤌🏽 We’ll release dates soon.

🌊In true sensitive soul fashion, I’m reflecting on how grateful I am to share the island that’s become my part time home. I feel passionately about experiences that tap into local culture: What a privilege to share this, AND for the opportunity to experience the island anew through retreaters’ eyes.

🏺These retreats (you truly RETREAT from your day to day existence and identity) are a gift. Many clichés abound, and the funny thing is, most of them ring true. These experiences help us remember to *remember* how to open our hearts, expand our perception, tap into the magic of communal movement + breath… and have more fun.

Lulu, my Earth sign partner, you’re a gift! The best co-pilot for opening hearts and expanding sweet summer joy. Also, shrimps.

time well spent on amorgos

an island my dear friend now calls home
greek grace, summer solstice retreat
a portal for remembrance & play

we bathed in the glittery waters of the aegean
extended our hands to the sky as if we could touch the sun
channeled our inner greek goddess
meditated on vastness•loving kindness•gratitude•surrender
practiced boat pose 1000x times

stared up at the rock formations, cliffs and peaks and thought about dean potter walking against the skyline under a full moon (maybe just me, confirming i have the rock climbing itch)

squeezed every last bit of juice from the lemons
learned that the flowers of st. johns wart are like little suns and it is a ritual to harvest on the solstice

smiled so big my face hurt when bb phoebe surprised us for greek dance and thought about two summers ago when she was along for the whole retreat ride inside kristina’s belly

picked wild sage and said thank you, thank you, thank you to the land

gasped in awe at the moonlight dancing over the water

this is simply a sliver of the magic! it is a privilege to travel freely, one that i will never take for granted- but it is our birthright to feel, share, rest, and connect. thank you to our incredible group of retreaters who made this week so special, and to my brilliant friend, co-host, and visionary @kristinadelphi. it is a gift to work side by side with you, the recipe just gets sweeter because the foundation is built with integrity. honoring the land, the culture, and the magic of greece. @yia.mas x somatical ♾️ greek grace summer solstice retreat 2026 🌞 ευχαριστώ

if any of this gave you the ping to take the leap to join us next summer, dm me your email to be added to the list for early sign up. (and yes ps: teachers, we heard you ❤️ july peak summer 2027 it is).
