GUYS!!!! A DVD that I found in my parent’s basement!! It was labeled ‘July 16, 2007: Supergirls first flight rehearsal.’

I can’t believe I had never seen this. My first ever ‘flight’ as Supergirl for the series Smallville.

I was 22 and I had JUST been cast after my final screen test in Los Angeles. I moved to Vancouver (my first time moving away from home alone) and I think this was the very first thing I did!

Considering how long ago this was, the amazing stunt team had to figure out how to rig with the gear we had to fly.

These days it’s all done digitally, but I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it old school… Even if the harness was painful 😂 (also, this is the harness I later during filming passed out in that cut off my arteries 🤣)

Crazy beautiful memories and I love seeing my good friend and stunt double @crystaldalman here. This makes my heart so happy. ❤️🥹

Thank you @goughalfred & @miles_millar for this opportunity and for the memories I hold so tightly and fondly.

"Clana" (Smallville Sunday #4)

As blasphemous as this might sound from a die-hard Superman fan, I've always liked the idea of Clark & Lana more than Clark & Lois. And surprisingly, it isn't just because of Smallville. (In fact, seasons 3-7 of Smallville seemed determined to make me hate the idea of Clark and Lana together.)

Lois represents the big city, Metropolis. She's the ace reporter whose always chasing after a story, and in most renditions of the Superman story, she's infatuated with Superman long before she is attracted to Clark. (There's been a move away from this in more recent versions of the character, so Lois has grown on me in recent years.) The tricky part with Lois is that you rarely know if she would ever have even taken much notice of Clark if he wasn't Superman. Sure, he's her coworker, but her eyes were always after the hero. Her attraction seems a bit to superficial, and I've never fully understood, apart from proximity, why a guy like Superman would be interested in someone like her.

Lana, however, is another story altogether. Don't get me wrong, in many iterations of the Superman mythos, Lana is nothing but the proto-Lois Lane who is always trying to expose Clark and prove he is more than just a normal guy. But in my favorite versions of the Superman story, Lana is the girl who fell for Clark not because he was Superman, but because he was a genuinely great guy. She's the popular girl with a heart of gold who shares the same values that make Superman so special. If Lois, the loud, no-nonsense reporter, is a portrait of Metropolis -- where Superman does his "work" -- then Lana is a portrait of Smallville -- Clark's "home," the place where Superman was made. Superman's character, more than his powers, are his greatest strength. Lois loves Superman, who just so happens to be Clark. Lana loves Clark, who just so happens to be Superman.

Like I said, I know it's a hot take, but I said what I said.
