Days 8 and 9 of our @exetergses Kenya 🇰🇪 Fieldcourse saw us travel to @kenyawildlifeservice Nakuru National Park including a briefing by the KWS staff outlining the management challenges of a fully fenced park that is evermore encircled by human development and subject to massive variation in water levels. Although it is not quite the place it was, even 10 years ago, the abundance and diversity of wildlife is still highly impressive. #kenyawildlife #kenya #lakenakurunationalpark

Day 5 of the @exetergses MSc Kenya 🇰🇪 Fieldcourse was spent with a focus on rhino conservation at @olpejeta . As well as seeing both species very close in the wild we had an excellent overview lecture by @olpejeta director of Research Nelly Maiyo and visited Baraka the blind black rhino. Discussions were had around the pros and cons of such up close “petting” opportunities, the ongoing programme to try and save the Northern white rhino and the challenges of safeguarding rhinos. This included a visit to the rhino graveyard, a monument to the time when illegal killing of rhinos was not yet under control. Thank you to Nelly and team! #kenyawildlife #rhinoconservation #exeteruniversity #exeterunilife

Day 7 of the @exetergses Kenya 🇰🇪 fieldcourse. The post is out of order as it is just too exciting to wait. This morning we had a next level experience with Giza(dark) the melanistic #léopard This was a first for all of our staff and students, except for @oscarkingk_101 our Kenyan student. Thank you to Dr Dedan Ngatia of @mpala_wilddogs for guiding us. Lots of interesting discussions about behaviour, habituation ensued. It is indeed a wonderful world. #kenyawildlife #kenya #exeteruniversity #blackpanther @uni_exe_cec

Day 3 of our @exetergses MSc Kenya🇰🇪 fieldcourse at @uni_exe_cec in @uniexecornwall . This saw us camping in the Aberdares NP and discussing fenced parks, Endemic species and ecological transitions with altitude as we undertook a hike to 3950m. It is our first visit as part of this trip but I think we will return. #kenyawildlife #kenya #exeteruniversity

1 year in london🙈

my biggest goal of 2025 was to train and explore new styles (as law school hadn’t exactly left me with lots of free time to explore in the years prior) and what better place to do it? mentally and physically it has been very challenging at times, but i know i grow best when i push myself out of my comfort zone. i’ve been learning to find joy in going with the flow and reassurance in the fact that everyone’s journey is different.

so grateful for the connections i’ve made so far, the communities i’m lucky to be a part of and my mentors and teachers 💓 being surrounded by amazing people is what keeps me motivated. + so many that aren’t in this little carousel.

some new styles i’ve tried in classes this year (many of them thanks to @companyjinks): house, vogue femme, locking, contemporary, pantsula, kizomba, & more💫
