Thanks to @iise.tamu for hosting the IISE South Central Regional Conference this year! We had a blast and enjoyed hearing from the speakers, touring Saint-Gobain, Daikin, and Disaster City, participating in an etiquette lunch, and getting to learn more about engineering at A&M!

Kyle Bush and Audrey Steinert placed first in the paper competition with their Facility Growth Planning and Layout presentation! We couldn’t be more proud.

Emma Shulda, senior in industrial engineering, is an engineering intern working at a Foot Locker distribution center in Reno, Nevada. She is working to improve the company’s scanning and sizing process to increase accuracy and decrease wasted time due to reprocessing. To do this, Emma’s gathering data, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles, creating flowcharts and making standard operating procedures for future use.

She is looking forward to getting outside, hiking in the Lake Tahoe area and attending many of the Reno festivals this summer. She’s already gotten a chance to go on a few hikes and ski closing day at Palisades Tahoe with her dad. Emma stands with two others outside a Foot Locker distribution center.
