2025 😮‍💨 ~

Reflecting on the incredible opportunity to share art thoughts with @kthych_ for @art21’s In The Studio feature. We chatted about the plans for my solo exhibition, Heaven Knows. Proud of the holographic installation that I presented, with the support of the A.I.R. Fellowship. It was a challenging work to pull off, which created the momentum needed to get through the rest of the year.

Following its twelve-year history as a digital nomad, Topical Cream is thrilled to announce its 𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖚𝖌𝖚𝖗𝖆𝖑 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙 𝖎𝖘𝖘𝖚𝖊.

This 150-page, full-color magazine marks a major milestone—launching at 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤 (𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗) and included in 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 + 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠.

Curated by 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐧 (𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓), this issue gathers ten urgent pieces—critical essays, reviews, and artist interviews—exploring the conceptual underpinnings of performance and time-based art, asking what it means to find comfort in cadence and digression in a time of polycrisis.

Wish I could be in Chicago to check out this intimate group show that opened last weekend @roots_and_culture_chi and is up through September 3rd.

Here’s a few glimpses, but there are many more works to see and experience IRL. The first two slides are my work. And yes, if you’ve seen these abstracted mushroom sculptures before in either Skien or Oslo, they’ve always had the latent ability to glow 😈 The last three works are by @fff00slut and @i.largo who both have super interesting practices that are very much worth checking out. 🌾✨

Thank you to @kthych_ for curating this beautiful show and letting me post preliminary images.
