My first coil pot in all her different phases. I really enjoy this process and can’t wait to make more!

To me, one of the most exciting parts of owning a small business is getting to decide who I support and who I work with.

Just a reminder: when you support a small business, you’re often supporting other small businesses, creatives, and artists, too.

Here’s a little more about the art you’ll find at Our House Baltimore. Let me know if you have any questions!

Morning everyone! It’s @alicepoole__ here for this week’s takeover. Thanks so much to the Map6 team for having me! I’m excited to be sharing some work with you all.

I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce myself and talk a little about an ongoing project that I’ve been working on since 2020. I’m Alice, a documentary and portrait photographer from the West Midlands. My work often explores the relationship between image and text, with a focus on documenting the lived experiences of women across the UK. Having just completed an MA at The Glasgow School of Art, I wanted to share this ongoing project and the self-published book Atelier that I spent last year working on.

This ongoing project documents female artists working across the UK and explores the practices of a variety of artists. Atelier is a publication that documents female artists working across Scotland in 2025. Despite making up over 73% of the postgraduate art student population, female artists remain vastly underrepresented across art institutions worldwide.

This work aims to contribute to that shifting dialogue and offers an alternative perspective - a platform that allows female artists to share their experiences.

Katy Smail’s work is grounded in the wild Scottish landscapes she grew up with, creating large-scale floral paintings guided by intuition, colour and a commitment to honouring the natural world.

atelier 🧡
I’ve been meaning to share this work for a while, but as with all projects that become such a big part of your life, it can feel hard to let go once they’re finished.
This series began at the start of the year and grew as a direct response to the incredible creative women I’ve met over the past nine months in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and beyond. Made in close collaboration with each artist, the process has been just as meaningful as the final outcome✨

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, and for the generosity of sharing your time, space, and work with me. It’s been such a joy to bring this together.

I can’t believe my time at @glasgowschoolart has come to an end. Feeling so lucky to have met so many incredibly talented people along the way. 🧡
