This past week, our crew had the opportunity to spend some time in Noatak, Alaska, hosting a running camp alongside alumni from @fortlewiscollege.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, we were able to bring every member of the Noatak cross country team new running shoes, uniforms, bags, and other gear to help them take on the season ahead.

Weeks like this are why we do what we do. We truly believe sports can save lives. They create connection, build confidence, give young people something to work toward, and remind them that they have a team and a community behind them.

We capped off an unforgettable week with a community fun run to bring everyone together for a few more miles, a lot of laughs, and a pretty special ending to our time in Noatak.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this week possible and even more grateful to the Noatak community for welcoming us in. We’ll be cheering this team on every step of the way, we already can’t wait to come back.

Recap of the 2026 Remembrance! I represented Team Rising Hearts (@rising_hearts) alongside Rocío (@thexicanaexplorer) and Missy (@ellicul_lucy

Flew into Reno, NV a day early to settle in and explore the area. Mural by Numu & Diné artist Autumn Harry (@numu_wanderer)

This bookstore was called The Radical Cat and had cats to adopt. Unfortunately she wasn’t going to be flying back with me 🥲💕 We were looking at birds outside 🤣

Wanted to get a lil shakeout run in and googled “are there any reno run clubs that are meeting on thursdays” and ARC popped up! We had 15 min to make it there lol. Fun group to start off the weekend @ascentrunclub.reno

And the views 😮‍💨

We head to Yerington Paiute Reservation where the 50 mile journey will start - set up camp, screen print t shirts, make prayer ties, eat dinner, and watch the @remainingnative film!

The moment the film ended, a shooting star flew by. A sign that this was going to be a special weekend 💫 (Pic from before the film started)

More background: The Remembrance Run is hosted by Kutoven Stevens (@ku_stevens) to retrace the 50-mile escape his great-grandfather took to escape the Stewart Indian School. This run is split into two days (25 miles per day), with overnight camping and storytelling at Sunrise Pass. There’s stops every 5 miles to regroup and refresh. No one is left behind! This year’s route went from Yerington Paiute Tribe Reservation to the Stewart Indian School Museum, and there was 135 people in attendance.

Saturday morning - 5AM wake up, breakfast, pack up camp, circle up, and begin the journey!

I’m grateful for Rocío and Missy in my life. They are Indigenous matriarchs I look up to. 🪶❤️

Sunset on Day 1 - 25 miles done and dusted…or dusty 😅 Just running on dirt roads under the hot desert sun. (My legs only cramped once btw). We set up camp and eat dinner. There is a giveaway with so many donated items that we go through every name 3-4 times 🌱

We end Day 1 with storytelling - sharing what brought us here, why we’re running/walking, who we’re running for. I shared that my grandpa Bernard attended boarding school and my grandma Myra’s family moved off reserve/changed their name and avoided go
