For generations, queer and trans communities have rallied around the concept of “chosen family.” But, even though media like The L Word and Pose show us the value of chosen family, we are never explicitly taught how to build this idealized community. Guest expert @kulunturjc shares more about what chosen family is and how you can build it at the link in our bio!

TODAY! Queer and Trans Families Kiki*
__________________________
Want to meet other queer and trans parents, kids, and families in the Atlanta community? Come out to the Queer and Trans Families Kiki where we'll have the opportunity to build community with other families. During this event, we will fellowship with other families, play 'Minute to Win It' all-ages games, discuss topics relevant to queer and trans families, and enjoy each other's company. This space is child friendly, and all activities will be inclusive of children ages 5+ if they wish to participate. This event is facilitated by Khye Tyson of Kulunto Reproductive Justice Center. *A kiki is a social gathering, usually for the purpose of casually “kicking back,” gossiping, and sharing stories. It is historically connected to LGBTQ communities.
