We weren’t wired to do life alone! 🤝 This weekend, Pastor Kurt reminded us that God uniquely created us for relationship. We’re designed to be connected to one another—and that’s why small groups are such a big deal. In community, we are seen, strengthened, and prepared to be sent. I so enjoyed this last week spending time in the US with old and new friends. Everyone I met has been so kind and encouraging. Texas, California, DC. Now it's time to go back home. I miss my family!

The past week has been nothing short of overwhelming in many ways. Coming together as one global church is always special. I had personal conversations with our church leadership, connected with other pastors from around the world, prayed for Europe and Germany (in German) on stage in front of 3,000 people, met people who will come to Berlin on mission, visited Saddleback Temecula Valley to share a brief encouragement, and co-hosted our global online service. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few things. It was a very full schedule, but I leave encouraged and deeply grateful.

🎄 Hey Carpool Crew, let’s talk about Christmas morning. We all have traditions we love. Pajamas. Coffee. Kids waking up way too early. And sometimes, we’re also open to adding one small thing that helps the morning feel a little more meaningful and a little less rushed. At Carpooling with Jesus, we put together a simple Christmas Morning Recipe. It’s not meant to replace your traditions, just to come alongside them. A few intentional moments to help you slow down, center your family, and start the day remembering why we’re celebrating in the first place. If you’re looking for a gentle, doable way to make the most of Christmas morning, I’d love for you to check it out and see if it’s something that could serve your family this year. Grace and peace to you and yours this Christmas ❤️ Thanks CCV in Arizona for this. Every family got a card with this on the way out of church. #CarpoolingWithJesus #ChristmasMorning #FamilyFaith #IntentionalParenting ChristmasTraditions

Got a crazy pup, great hangs all around, continued to make our house a home, splish splashed in the backyard, found some fairways, conquered the garage and made some killer ribeyes. What a year🫡 Merry Christmas from the Johnstons!

How can we know we’re following God’s will? This weekend, Pastor Kurt Johnston closed out our Hey God! series by walking us through how to discover it, with ways like: 🙏 Starting with prayer 📖 Spending time in Scripture 💬 Seeking wise input God has a unique will for our lives and we can’t know his will without first knowing him. As we draw closer to God through his Word and prayer, he shapes our hearts and guides our steps. Even when the outcome isn’t clear, we can trust that he’s leading the way! 📺 Catch the full message on YouTube!

Team Teaching Weekend @saddlebacklf! This weekend was a special one as we wrapped up our Identity Crisis series. I was able to join with some other incredible leaders and teachers to all take on teaching during a service! . We spoke about How Jesus Makes Us Fully Alive! I loved seeing each persons take on the message and how God can use each person to connect uniquely to who is attending that service. . Thanks @kurtjohnston for being the glue and doing all the intros and outros and helping set everyone up. Great job @brykelley @angminor1 @matt_heer!! . @saddlebacklf @saddlebackchurch #identitycrisisseries #saddlebackchurch #saddlebackchurchlf

The last 7 days have been a lot. So many people in our lives have come to pray over us, celebrate with us, cry with us, and be with us. We are not stepping out alone, but with an army of people behind us. These are all pics people took and sent to us, and if you don’t see yours send it to me because I want it. This is the smallest of fractions of all who came to love on us. Emotionally, all of it has been tough. There’s been a lot of tears, a lot of affirmations, a lot of grief, but also a lot of joy. Life is so sweet when you put down deep roots, and painful when you uproot yourself, but it hurts because we love people here. From goodbyes to @saddlebacklfcr leaders at @nana_cange house, a park day that saw 100 and something show up, and a prayer gathering of some of our closest, all have been affirmation that we did it right. More thoughts to come as my last day at Saddleback on Saturday approaches, but @kristinbrook and I are so lucky to have a literal city of people behind us. Tears of gratitude for all of you who have loved us well. What a blessing.

What started as another day of Hawaii vacationing by the pool later led to a nursing student graduate, her sister a med student, their parents, nurse & physician, & their student cousins, seven in all said YES to Jesus to follow Him in baptism yesterday! Lots behind this story! Praise His Name! 🙏 Extra special is to share the experience with @kurtjohnston @fayslaybaugh @racheljohnston12 @koolinaresort
